If by this time next year there are the same number of practicing Catholics, I would be astonished.
My parish is the second largest in a small diocese, I think something like a few hundred people at each of the 6 masses on Sundays pre-COVID.
Now we’re having masses again (but not on Sundays, only noon and 6pm Monday - Friday, per pastor directive) and I made it on Wednesday. There was around 20 people there at 6pm. I understand people are busy, and have developed a routine for Sunday’s, but still! I do not see a desire for Mass among regular Catholics.
