Why can’t their stated beliefs rest with them? Why is it necessary for you to have the chutzpah to shake your finger in their faces and thus create enmity? In East Asia, Buddhists, Taoists, Christians, Hindus, Shintoists, exist side-by-side without anybody going around shaking his/her finger to shame them. Who said it is your responsibility to set them straight? Also, what difference does it make?

Why don’t you take issue with the 80,000 LDS missionaries who actually do go around knocking on doors shaking their fingers in the faces of non LDS, telling them that their beliefs are an abomination? This is a discussion board where people come to talk about their beliefs, why do you think no one should uphold their own beliefs in a voluntary discssion venue?

I’m beginning to think he is Mormon…they are very anti-catholic.

because they rarely are truth about their beliefs.

For the same reason that you feel it necessary to shake your finger here and thus create enmity between you and those whose opinions diverge from your own.

God is the one who set enmity. You treat Jesus like he came to bring peace, which is not
true, but rather he came to bring the sword (metaphorically, don’t take it too far). We are
commanded, as I’ve already told you, to contend earnestly for the Faith, to preach the
Gospel to all people, and to take down that which is contrary to Truth.

And the point of it all is Love. How can I love you, for example, if I said
“Believe what you want to believe?” What is love when it allows people
to run to their own destruction?

In my second vision, Jesus (The Real Jesus) asked me to protect His Church. I will gladly fight to protect it. If that means I must lay down my life for Him, so be it. Bottom line is the lds church is about the money. So how is their church the true church when only those who tithe their ten percent (not 9 or 5) can enter the temples? Is it not Gods Church? This and many things make them non Christian.

I had 2 mishies approach me earlier this week, and told them no thanks, but they kept pushing.

I looked at the senior mishie, and politely told him, “This is not a conversation you want to have with me.”, smiling the entire time. He kind of puffed up a little bit, and asked, “why not”?

I smiled, and said, “How many versions of the ‘first vision’ are there? Which on is right?” Followed by, “Why did smith try to join the Methodist Church after he was told all of them were an abomination?”.

They hung their heads low, and walked away. They just don’t want to answer the hard questions. Especially when the first meet someone.

Do you feel justified to shake your finger at a smoker? How about somebody who knowingly drinks a Big Gulp? How about a Jehovah’s Witness? How about a drunkard with a jug of wine? How about a grossly obese person you see scarfing down junk food?

How about this analogy:YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE!
GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!But let’s use your other analogies now: Don’t you want to help the smoker quit? or the
drunkard live a better sober life? What if such people were your own family members?
Is there not a heartbeat in your chest for people who are killing themselves?

You keep bringing up that shake of the finger metaphor as though we have a Holier
Than Thou attitude. Admittingly, some may be like that, sadly, but a true Christian
is far above that sort of thing.

Why did you include that
Jehovah’s Witness scenario
in that handful of analogies?
Run out them or something?

Actually, believe it or not, I have a lot of respect for Mormons in general. We really have many moral values in common. I’m even going to see Donny and Marie Osmond in concert in a week or so. They are a very close family. But just because I have respect for them as a family, doesn’t mean I agree with their theological viewpoint. Thanks to people like Scott and Kimberly Hahn, and others on EWTN, I’ve come to a true appreciation and understanding of my own Catholic faith. So I’m so glad I’m still Catholic. But alot of Osmond fans have become Mormon simply because of their influence.

This is idiotic and ridiculous. People come here ( it’s their choice to participate) to talk about religion, it is after all a religious discussion board. Since it’s a Catholic board people should expect that the Catholic faith will be defended. Why is it a problem that Catholics defend their faith on a Catholic board.

On another note your overblown emotional ranting over Catholics believing their church is the one established by Christ and and saying so, is really quite hypocritical. You go on and on about Catholics on their own message board, but when it comes to Mormons knocking on doors or stopping people on the street to tel them to leave their abominable beliefs and join the Mormon church you don’t make peep. You sound like classic Whyme.

I’ll believe you’re outraged by people telling others that their faith is wrong when you go shake your finer at all the blogging Mormon missionaries.

The Catholic Church is the only Church founded by Jesus Christ Himself. He charged His Apostles (the first Bishops) to go throughout the world, teaching the Gospel. He named the first Pope (St. Peter) to lead and guide His Church in the world. The Catholic Church is His Church, there is no other and The Catholic Church sets the standard. The Catholic Church is the only Church in the world that possesses the Authority of Jesus Christ Himself on earth. All others are mere subsidiaries. The Catholic Church teaches TRUTH, before all others. Even depraved Hollywood, when it wants to portray religion, uses Catholic imagery, knowing that it is instantly recognizable. The Church is reviled by it’s enemies because they know that Christ has given Her the last word on faith and morals. When the Servants of the Church cause scandal (being human) the world reacts with horror, because the Catholic Church is held to a much higher standard than any other religion in the world. A Church which has survived for over two thousand years is of God Himself, not man-made and destined to exist to the end of all ages, as promised by our founder, Jesus Christ Himself.
