I just wonder because every time I hear about an abortionist it’s a man. Anyone have any credible stats on this?
IIRC, most doctors are men, so you would have to run a comparison of the proportion of male doctors with the proportion of male abortionists.I just wonder because every time I hear about an abortionist it’s a man. Anyone have any credible stats on this?
Interesting question. I did a quick search and got nowhere. Apparently 74% of the medical students entering OBGYN residencies are female. According to the following article female OBGYNs are more likely to perform abortions.I just wonder because every time I hear about an abortionist it’s a man. Anyone have any credible stats on this?
Good point as the spokesmen for abortion are almost all females these days…from Cecile Richards to Wendy Davis to Kathleen Sebelius (a BIG SUPPORTER OF TILLER THE KILLER!!!) and of course Debbie Wasserman Schulz…she of the angry hair. But I would also tend to believe that the “face” of the political pressure groups that have succeeded in enshrining abortion as a fundamental “right” is largely female: NARAL, National Organization of Women, etc.
Yes. Feminism (not the gender of woman, which God himself created) is responsible for abortion and many other related ills in our nation. But I would also tend to believe that the “face” of the political pressure groups that have succeeded in enshrining abortion as a fundamental “right” is largely female: NARAL, National Organization of Women, etc.
There is no Y chromosome until about the 13th week of pregnancy. Therefore, yeah, most aborted are women.I heard on the catholic radio yesterday, in Spanish, well they said that most babies who are aborted are women.
No. A human being has 23 pairs of chromosomes (or 46 total) at the moment of conception. We don’t get any additional chromosomes at any point during our lifespan. You are male or female from the moment of conception. Perhaps you are thinking of when the external genital organs become visible? There is no Y chromosome until about the 13th week of pregnancy. Are you quite sure about that? I’m pretty certain that is incorrect. The egg carries an X chromosome while the sperm carries either the X or Y chromosome. So from the point of fertilization, a fetus is either XX or XY (or in rare and abnormal cases some other series such as XXY).There is no Y chromosome until about the 13th week of pregnancy. Therefore, yeah, most aborted are women.
It also has to do with how God planned it for the natural survival of the human race. When nature isn’t interfered with, more girls are conceived and born than boys. That’s why even if girls aren’t targeted for abortions (which they often are), girl babies will still be aborted more than boys.No. A human being has 23 pairs of chromosomes (or 46 total) at the moment of conception. It is probably true that more female babies are aborted but I suspect this is because of the preference of parents for sons rather than daughters.
Because there is still societal discrimination against women, not helped by the reemergence of rape culture. Don’t believe me? The academics spend more time telling women how not to make it look like ‘she asked for it’ than prosecuting the men who rape. Not all feminists are pro-abortion - merely the ones promoted by the media.Yes. Why a Catholic would refer to themselves as a Feminist is as baffling to me as a 'Catholic" Obama supporter.
Be a Catholic!! Advocate for** both** sexes!!
The fact that some women get raped doesn’t mean that society as a whole discriminates against them. That’s like blaming everyone for rape. Discrimination means when they don’t get hired because they are a woman. And there isn’t any secular job that does that in today’s world.Because there is still societal discrimination against women, not helped by the reemergence of rape culture. Don’t believe me? We must distinguish between the feminism of a Hanna Suchocka or a Corazon Aquino or a Susan Anthony (the first two of which were good Catholic women) and that of Bella Abzug. And even then, the Abzugs of the world were mere overreaction to the real discrimination women faced then and to an extent face now.
