Are Nudists Bad?

I asked if anyone knew what the official Church teaching was but no one seemed to know … Well, I searched the Vatican website and found the word “nudism” mentioned in two documents:

I’m not sure if you can discern an official position from these documents or how authoritative the documents are.

These folks are simply deranged voyeurs.

It’s like folks who want to go streaking in a public forum like at a sports event or on TV (aka the Academy Awards show). Somehow they have managed to surpress their natural sense of modesty, some to attract attention for some unknown reason or others to see what kind of reaction they can cause in other folks.

Some just want to rebell from established norms, just to be different from everyone else or maybe get into a get back to nature-primative type thing.

Or it could be a self challenge or thrill seeking type deal to overcome their own inhibitions, to do something that normally they would consider outrageous (like mountain climbing or sky diving).

Anyhow, I think they are just plain nutcases and kooks

In 1983, I went to a nude beach on the Baltic coast in Poland.

Only 3 words can describe what I saw there: CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

I’d been to such beaches in Germany and France as well as in Greece. I was in my 20’s and for some reason did not perceive it in an erotic context. many do. For some reason I did not.

It’s a situation by situation thing. For some it’s not a temptation, but for many others, it is. We’re called to chastity and it’s always best to avoid near occasions of sin. But if you’re going to the beach or even to a public park anywhere in western Europe, expect to see nude or partially nude people.

wel,i think the persons persoinality and behaviour make that good or bad…Antony de Mello hase a story like this too, in prioncipal,the goodperson can be good in any place…i think are nice and inocent people and are bad and imoralpeople too…is dificult to say about all the movemenet ,is good ornot…in Germany,mouvement,nudism/naturism/FKK is mor epopuilar…i wondering,are priests too in place klike this,special in Germany/?

Such behavior is not consistent with the faith.
