So I met this man online, he was one of my brothers friends, and he’s amazing. Everything I’ve ever wanted in a man, he’s kind, a little bit of a nerd, faithful (not Catholic tho), sweet, knows where he’s going in life, and we have literally so much in common! I developed a crush almost immediately lol. A few weeks ago he admitted he liked me, but had to tell me something because he didn’t want me getting into something uninformed. He used to use porn, only stopped this year, and still struggles with masterbation. This was shocking but not as much as I think he expected because I had a porn habit as a teen, and kicked it when I was 16. We’re still sort I in a relationship, but I’m afraid because we’re not at the same spot in our purity journey, it won’t work out. I live by pretty strict rules to keep myself from falling back into sin, I’m afraid that since we both had this problem it’ll somehow normalize it, and instead of bringing each other closer to christ we’ll fall into sin. Am I being dramatic? I almost wish I’d found a man who had lived a pure life, but how is that fair when I didn’t? I need advice. Oh, and before anyone asks, we are taking it slow, not even officially dating yet, but he is amazing, he makes me so happy except for this one thing that’s stressing me out…

You don’t say how old you are, and I think a lot depends on that. If you told me you are 18, I might agree with you that it might not work out. But if you are older, it might. You seem to have a handle on how to stay pure.

If you’re currently walking the straight and narrow and continue this way?

No… Not at all.
