there may be certains rules and laws that are federal and there may be certain rules and laws that are state-mandated and expand on the federal laws as is allowed. this question is about CATHOLIC practice–so your ‘answer’ and interruption is irrelevant and shows your ignorance. If you don’t know the CATHOLIC answer–then don’t answer. It only shows you up for a troll when you speak out of the aperature that is not your mouth.

You’re reffering to the Catechism. It’s based off of the Bible. Things like murder, incest, heavy drinking are condemned in the Bible, so there are passages in the Catechism stating that they are wrong. It’s all the beliefs of the Church, including Biblical ones, processed and broken down into little paragraphs. They are in 100% harmony.

Umm just jumping in here, but could the OP be wondering about Jesus Only Pentecostals? They do not baptize In The Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the the Holy Spirit. They baptize in the name of Jesus only. As such, their baptism would not be considered valid.

I’ve occasionally came across a radio broadcast by a JO Pentecostal and that’s about all they can talk about. They get very vehiment about how eeeeevil it is to use the Trinitatian formula.

nope. i haven’t a clue to what the pentacostals do.i’m all ears on this one. i am however, just a christian.i started at a little church in bloomington, ca. it was the assymblys of god. when my mother died when i was two, she made my dad promise to have us in church every week. i didn’t know this until i was 16. we went to a luthern, methodist, and even catachism one summer while we were growing up. eventually my dad remarried a morman and we ended up in that church. i was kicked out of the house for refusing to go to the morman church.in fact, i was almost excomunicated for not wanting to go on a mission. it wasn’t until 1994 when i first heard about this jesus who saves.but i didn’t actually meet him until 2 years later.what i mean by that is, i never took him serious at his word.i played the role of christian, but my life did not glorify the lord. it glorified me and what i could do.so with all this had to go. now i do study the word of god and want to know him who saved me. one pastor gave me something that stuck with me and i agree with it. he said the ancient rabbi’s would listen to teachings and would not argue over them. they would simply hear the teaching, go in and study it thoughly. then if it was right , they would accept it. but if it was wrong, they would leave it alone. now i just started to study baptism.my question for myself was, if the old testament requires a water baptism for forgiveness of sins, and
i believe jesus forgives them now, why the need for water baptism now? and what is this baptism of the holy spirit and fire? now if you want to help find these answers great.

if your motives are pure MeanDean, then do a search on the site for baptism of fire and baptism of spirit–this IS a Catholic APOLOGETICS site—there are all the answers to any question you might have of the Church here without the necessity of arguing. The forums are mostly opinion and social networking–very valuable in themselves. The real in depth and Rome-approved answers are in the articles and archives. Start a new thread if you want to know these answers.

So you must be baptized Mormon if they wanted you to do a mission…I came into the Catholic Church from generations of Jehovah’s Witnesses and Luciferianism (JWs are connected thru Masonic symbolism) and I was also baptised Mormon and was with them for a brief time. I went thru Unitarianism and Humanism and Satanism before finding my way to the fullness of all truth in the Catholic Church. The journey can be long and winding…

believe the answer to the OP question is that not all Pentecostal baptisms are approved because of the misinterpretation of the formula and erroneous intent—LDS (Mormon) and JW baptisms are not valid either. I have been falsely baptized three times and once the right way.
