Are people everywhere hyper-sexualized? What is normal sexual behavior? I’m not talking sexual preferences here, but the sexual urge, the libido. Look at the problems people on this forum have with masturbation?
Is it ironic that the drug companies do not have any drugs specific to sexual reduction, like they have with sexual enhancement. Luckily, certain anti-depressants act as sexual reduction, like Paxil (which I am on).
It may be tempting to blame hyper-sexuality on the media, but I think the media is just an outcome of the sexual revolution.
The sexual revolution is huge, and began in the 1960s. Parts of the revolution should not be studied without putting things in context with the larger revolution, so I would like to explore hyper-sexuality in contrast to the larger revolution as a whole. Like, what made the revolution take off? Are a rapid increase in sexual urges to blame? Or, was it the media that gave birth to the the increase in sex and the revolution?
