Are persons with dementia capable of committing sin?

This is the first time i have visited the forums for a long time so this has probably been answerd. if it has i am sorry to waste your time. i am 75 years old and live in a retirement home. my question. if a person has been a model christian for 80 years and then gets dementia is he/she capable of committing sin? and is it ok for them to receive communion?

Hi Ruth,

If a people live God-fearing lives, such persons have nothing to fear regarding thier state of soul in the face of dementia. Once dementia sets in they are not capable of sinning and may receive their Lord in Holy Communion. If we live long enough, most of us will suffer from dementia.
