Ok this is what the priest told my friend he didn’t say all scented candles he said the Yankee candles you shouldn’t have them because they make people sick
That takes me back to my original thought, that someone is feeling sick with migraines or another physical ailment around one. This is very common and people that do not have reactions to scented candles do not realize how sick they can make others feel. Perhaps only the Yankee brand is doing this to that particular person but all scented candles can cause physical reactions in some people.
like they’re a a bad Spirit
When feeling really sick with a migraine or an asthma attack you might think there is a bad spirit somewhere but no, there is no bad spirit in them, at least that I am aware of but then again I do not know who runs the company.

gag. Now my favorite Yankee Candle is Midsummer Night, it was a black candle (have not been in a Yankee store for a million years).

You joking right?

Is there really a candle scent called Fried Bacon? 😱😱

It might not have been “Fried Bacon”, but it had bacon in the name.
It was when they were trying to market scented candles to dudes.

I’m partial to a candle scent from Bath and Body works called Flannel. It’s more of a scent which reminds me of autumn.

I also like the Ecalyptus and mint scent.

I think we are into something here. 🙃

What about sentsy, or a glade plug in warmer!? Begone sinful scents, let my house smell of the sweet diaper scent it should always have!

Doritos! Just fell in love with yankee. I’m requesting a beeswax doritos candle for baptisms and the three days of darkness prophesy. Oh, and of course three days worth of doritos!

Who made these? It was probably some guy sick of all of his wife’s candles burning in every room of the house, so he created some man cave scents. He forgot popcorn and beer scented.

It was a catholic priest who told my friend it was a sin to have them idk if he meant using them as votive candles or not tho
The problem is you are hearing this third hand and have no idea the context of what the priest said or what he meant by it.

A priest told you Yankee candles have bad spirits in them.

Pardon me, I’m skeptical.

Considering that there are air-purifying candles that get rid of things like pet smells. My mom has one and burns it at times, but then again she likes burning candles in general…

Someone just told me that scented candles are a sin I’ve never heard this before is it true?
Rosie, things aren’t sins. They are just things. Candles are morally neutral items. Like scissors, peanut butter, cotton balls, and blankets.

Sins are actions you commit that violate one or the Ten Commandments.

So what commandment does a candle violate? None.

What commandment does burning a candle violate? None.

If you burn a scented candle near someone with asthma, allergies, or other conditions on purpose to make them ill, then yes you are sinning against your neighbor, but it’s not the candle that is itself immoral it is your use of it.

If you use a candle to burn someone’s house down, it is your actions not the candle itself that is a sin against your neighbor.

When people tell you crazy things, like candles are a sin, start to recognize them for what they are: crazy things.

If you use scissors to cut wrapping paper, no problem. If you use scissors to stab someone, problem. Scissors are just things, like candles. Scissors aren’t sinful, but the way you use them might be.

Use some common sense.
