Are Sister Faustina's revelations 'biblical'?

Sr. Faustina says that she talked to Jesus over and over. Doesn’t scripture say someplace not to believe that Jesus is ‘here’ or ‘there’?

If I read her “diary” I might believe or be inspired in the message of Divine Mercy, because I believe in it anyway. It’s not a new message. It’s an old testament message. I guess now she’s a saint and people are pushing (and undoubtedly spending a lot of money in Rome) to have her declared a Doctor of the Church.

Hasn’t general revelation ended? Isn’t that what the Church teaches?

St Faustina’s revelations are so-called “private” revelations.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
There will be no further Revelation

66 "The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ."28 Yet even if Revelation is already complete, it has not been made completely explicit; it remains for Christian faith gradually to grasp its full significance over the course of the centuries.

67 Throughout the ages, there have been so-called “private” revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.

Christian faith cannot accept “revelations” that claim to surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ is the fulfilment, as is the case in certain nonChristian religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on such “revelations”. (source)​

It would surely be child’s play for an omnipotent God to “appear” to someone, while at the same time being omnipresent. He is not limited by time or space, as you and I are.

The scripture verse you are referring to (which refers, depending on which school you subscribe to) addresses either the fall of Jerusalem or the end times, and is a warning against false Messianic figures who claim to be “The Christ” (such as Simon Bar-Kochba in 132 AD)

General revelation has certainly ended. However God, in His goodness, does offer His Church the gift of private revelations in order to build up our faith and pour out His graces upon us more abundantly. While we are not obligated to follow them as a precept (as opposed to, say, attending Mass on Sunday), they can enrich our lives if we are open to them. Different strokes for different folks. (I personally had a great antipathy to the Divine Mercy devotion - mainly because it was railroaded into our parish’s Good Friday service at the expense of the Way of the Cross - until I actually read the texts and realized that they were quite beautiful and true. )

I have started to read St. Faustina’s diary. It seems that Jesus appears to her over and over again. Jesus is everywhere. Home, work, church, etc. He may not appear to others the way He did to St. Faustina, but He is there.

Jesus is not dead. These private revelations are allowed through special Holy Saints to confirm all that He said in scripture. How blessed to be that privileged to see Our Lord and receive

Private revelations have occurred for centuries. The phenomenon that you relate concerning Saint Faustina was lived by Saint Gertrude the Great, Saint Bridget of Sweden, Saint Catherine of Siena, Saint Catherine of Genoa, Saint Teresa of Avila, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, Saint Mary Magdalene de Pazzi, Julian of Norwich, and the Rhineland Mystics to name only a few.

If one understands the theological principles regarding private revelation and reads those which have been examined and received approbation from competent ecclesiastical authority according to the protocols that the Church has established regarding said private revelations determined worthy of credence, there is no harm.

This is fundamental in the field of mystical and ascetical theology.

OP, with all love and charity,
you seem to be having a crisis of faith. You have posted about not getting anything out of Mass, not feeling anything through prayer, and now this.
Perhaps your priest, who knows you far better than internet strangers can help you through this difficult time. Many are praying for your peace, especially since you feel like you are nearing the end of your journey.
I, nor anyone else, needs to tell you how much you are loved by God. Focus on THAT, and don’t worry if our dear SAINT Faustina speaks to your soul through her writings.
Not everyone has a devotion to every saint. But she IS a Saint. The Church has deemed her worthy and deserving of that title.
Be merciful. I’m sure there is a central, huge corpus above your altar at your parish. Focus on the outstretched arms of Our Lord, and see Him looking mercifully upon you. Rejoice!
