Is a tattoo a sin?
I suppose it depends on the size, the reason, and the image.
One thing is sure, I have never seen a person who had a tattoo where I didn’t think they destroyed something which was perfectly wonderfully made, namely their body, which is very beautiful in itself. They tried to improve it somehow by putting a tattoo on it… but it became less pretty and attractive as a result and now… they are stuck with it.
Dating a person who had a tattoo? I would not refuse to but I would see the tattoo as a sign of bad taste and wonder if he was a dependant kind of guy who tried to look cool (cant stand that) with some primitive group of friends.
having a satanic or perverse image as a tattoo is a sin as far as I understand.
having big tatoos … can just be plain sad to look at, and it should be done only in total agreement with your spouse who owns your body too.
if the reason for the tatoo is bad: like wanting to fit into a group, wanting to destroy your body etc. then its bad.
