Are tattoos okay?

Hello!

I would just like to get some clarification around what the Catholic church believes around getting Tattoos? Is this in any way at all disgracing the body and therefore, a sin?

What if one would like to get a Tattoo of something that is strongly linked to their faith as a Christian?

Just wanted to know as a few of the people around me who are Christians are considering or have considered in the past, getting a Tattoo about their faith.
