I know that those who are living it up in heaven are resurrected after the Second Coming to experience the New Jerusalem, but what about the damned. Are they never to get their bodays back or will they and suffer physically as well as spiritually?

Yes, the damned will rise from the dead. After this, their bodies will suffer along with their souls for eternity.

Yep! Boy, that kinda makes hell seem a whole lot worse knowing we would be begging for the rot and worms to end our misery but too bad!
I had a priest tell me ages ago the thought of hell (or sight or something, I forget) makes the angels scream. Right then and there I decided I was going to do whatever it took to avoid that!

Yes, the damned will indeed be raised from the dead and have a glorified body just like we all will. This glorified body will be indestructible…this will be horrible for them for they will long for death when they are cast into hell- body and soul.

All are resurrected at the end of times. The damned and the exulted. The damned get their bodies back and suffer a physical as well as a spiritual fire of Hell.

The bodies of the damned will not be glorified:
The bodies of the just will be glorious and immortal, no longer capable of suffering, and reflecting the glory of the soul. Whereas the bodies of the damned (likewise immortal) will be capable of suffering and reflecting the shame and hideousness of a soul without grace that has rejected God.

i understood it this way, that we will face a private judgement with God at the moment of our death, and at the end of time, we will have a public judgement as well.

iam not clear whether the damned will be raised and then re cast back into hell. i thought that once you were in hell, you never got
a resurrection. am i inccorect?

there is still alot i do not know about our faith, and 3 years of being back in the church obviously has not clarified that for me.
some clarification would be nice.

thanks.

When a person dies in mortal sin, their soul goes to hell. However, when the general judgement comes, their bodies will rise and will then share in the suffering of their souls. So, they will suffer physically and spiritually.

I hope this helps.
