Are the Early Church Fathers reliable?

How do we know which Church Fathers writings are real and which are forgerys?
 
They are reliable, but not infallible…and there are many cases of pseudo writings, which were not “forgeries”, but back in the day, it was common for well intended writers to write in the style and intent of the Fathers.
