is there something about the Jews being converted first?
Thank you. That is what I was taught too…However, are you aware that the word for ‘coming’ is pa•rou•si′a and that it literally means a “being alongside,” the expression being drawn from the preposition pa•ra′ (alongside) and ou•si′a (a “being”)? the same word is used at 2 Cor. 10:10 which is also the same word as found in Mt 24:27, 37, 39; 1Co 15:23; 16:17; 2Co 7:6, 7; Php 1:26; 2:12; 1Th 2:19; 3:13; 4:15; 5:23; 2Th 2:1, 8, 9; Jas 5:7, 8; 2Pe 1:16; 3:4, 12; 1Jo 2:28…As, he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the desciples approached him privately and said, “Tell us, when will this happen, and what sign will there be of your coming, and the end of the age?” Jesus said to them in reply, "See that no one decieves you. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will decieve many. You will hear of wars and reports of wars; See that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end. Nation will rise against nation, and kindom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place. All these are the beginning of the labor pains. Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name. And many will be led into sin; they will betray and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and decieve many; and because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. And this gospel fo the kingdom will be preached throughout the wold as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.(Matthew 24:3) The long version.
Salvation in this dispensation of the Grace of God IS a personel relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and is absolutely Biblical. “Believe on the LORD Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved” is a very personal application of faith IN HIM for salvation. What are we to believe? That HE died to pay our full sin penalty; HE was buried for 3 days and 3 nights, and HE rose again for our justification. Upon believing this gospel that Paul calls, “The gospel by which ye are S-A-V-E-D,” we are SEALED by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption of our body. I truly pray that you are depending ONLY on His death, burial and resurrection for salvation. Acts 16:31; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Eph. 1:13; 4:30.I think this type of rhetoric is a HUGE turn off to the CC, as if a set of boxes can be checked off for salvation. One can do all those things and more, mere outward adherence to Church teachings is no sign of inward transformation or heart knowledge of the Lord. Catholic of Protestant, the Christian life can be faked! This is why I love men like Fr. Larry Richards, Fr. Riccardo, men from “Crossing the Goal”…these and more will acknowledge that outward obedience is worthless, and far more Protestants are in better standing w/the Lord. But I would concur, “accepting Jesus as your own personal Savior” is neither biblical nor taught by the Church, and neither is it a good pop song!![]()
The “good news” of the “kingdom” is the fulfillment of many O.T. prophecies concerning the “kingdom” that our Lord will set up on earth in the future. He will sit on His throne of glory in Jerusalem and rule over Israel and the nations, while the 12 apostles of the circumcision will sit on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel in this kingdom. Our Lord’s entire earthly ministry, to Israel, involved preparing a people for this coming kingdom. Note Mt. 19:28.Thank you. 10:10 which is also the same word as found in Mt 24:27, 37, 39; 1Co 15:23; 16:17; 2Co 7:6, 7; Php 1:26; 2:12; 1Th 2:19; 3:13; 4:15; 5:23; 2Th 2:1, 8, 9; Jas 5:7, 8; 2Pe 1:16; 3:4, 12; 1Jo 2:28…
From the contrast that is made between the presence and the absence of Paul both in 2Co 10:10, 11 and in Php 2:12, the meaning of pa·rou·si′a is plain. Also, from the comparison of the pa·rou·si′a of the Son of man with the “days of Noah,” in Mt 24:37-39, it seems to me that this word means “presence.” How about you readers?
In the first 23 chapters of Matthew, over 80 times we find a common Greek verb for “come,” which is er′kho·mai. It conveys the thought of approaching or drawing near, as at John 1:47: “Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him.” Depending on usage, the verb er′kho·mai can mean “arrive,” “go,” “get to,” “reach,” or “be on one’s way.” (Matthew 2:8, 11; 8:28; John 4:25, 27, 45; 20:4, 8; Acts 8:40; 13:51) But at Matthew 24:3, 27, 37, 39, Matthew used pa·rou·si′a, a noun found nowhere else in the Gospels:
Now, follow along with me. We’re talking about the “end times” Paul called them the “Last Days” 2 Tim 3:1-5…assuming that this word is correct, why would the disciples ask about his “presence”? Wouldn’t they see him? No, they are asking when those on earth would know when the “Son of Man” would be given “Kingship” as foretold at Ps 110:1,-3 and Daniel 7:13, 14 in HEAVEN–in other words how would people on earth know he is no longer at ‘the right hand’–but on the throne.
Jesus gave the sign–not signs–but one long involved sign regarding earthquakes ect.
showing it would be a period of time over which many things would be happening just like in Noah’s day and even in Lot’s day see Matthew, chapters 24,25; Mark, chapter 13; Luke, chapter 21.
Okay now here is the part that really caught my attention and made more sense than anything I had heard before.
The “Lord’s Day” in Revelation1:10 is not a Sunday but takes place after the ‘day’ the now reigning King Jesus gets crowned. ( for example see:1 Corinthians 1:8;1 Corinthians 5:5 ;2 Corinthians 1:14; Philippians 1:6, 10; 2:16) )
Now, compare the 3rd vision of 16 visions given John…in Rev 6 the rider of the 1st horse gets a crown (Jesus) then just as he stated in Matthew, chapters 24, 25; Mark, chapter 13; Luke, chapter 21. his ‘kingship’ is followed by by ‘World wars,(1&2) earthquakes, famines, hatreds, and pestilences, remember Jesus would ‘rule in the midst of his enemies’ NOT upon them Ps 110:2 Notice too that he said “nation against nation”–world war! Never could there be another world war, if so, there would be no survivors. Ps 37:10,11 this is why Jehovah’s Witnesses say Jesus was Enthroned in 1914 (World War 1)
Now HERE IS THE WHOLE POINT. Jesus said "no one would know the ‘day or hour’ true…but he did say "(Matthew 24:32, 33) …*Now learn from the fig tree as an illustration this point: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and it puts forth leaves, YOU know that summer is near. 33 Likewise also YOU, when YOU see **all ***these things, know that he is near at the doors. Remeber also, Paul stated in Hebrews 10:25,26
And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, 25 not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as YOU behold the day drawing near.
now we know why Jesus wants the “Good news of the KINGDOM” preached during the “Last days” so people would have a chance to learn God’s Purpose–this has been just a short version of what this entire subject consists of…got to run.

By ‘worry’ I simply mean dwell on an unhealthy basis. I’d rather dwell on where my life is heading right now. People who rabble on about the end times are, frankly, hypocritical because they whine about the world but don’t do anything for themselves. You do realize it all starts with the self right? The endtimes do not worry me one tiny bit for the time being, perhaps it will when I have to pick bowing to the AC or having my head separated from the rest of my body (aka as beheading).
Sure you can discuss it. In the same way you can discuss post-apocalyptic fantasy. Then again, perhaps even that is too cool to call that sad farce people call ‘end-times speculation’.Not sure where you’re going with your fraction, I think the endtimes is a topic worth discussing, not fretting over or obsessing over. Again, we can’t know the exact day, week or year but we can have a discussion on whether we are in the season or near the season.
You’re close but, see Matthew 23:37,38 the ‘Jerusalem’ is now Hebrews 12:22The “good news” of the “kingdom” is the fulfillment of many O.T. prophecies concerning the “kingdom” that our Lord will set up on earth in the future. There has always been rebellion in the Church. Heck barely 200 years and already we were beset with heretics and schisms. Need I remind you how many councils were held because of that?Peter said there would be scoffers in the last days. Do you know the signs of the times? There is a rebellion in the church which is prophetic.
Exactly. This is what I’ve been trying to say. While we can never know the hour, we can know the season. Jesus taught the lesson of the fig tree. When leaves appear on the tree we know that summer is near. As many of you do, I believe that the leaves are sprouting on the tree.
The first horse of the horsemen, the white rider, is actually the AC himself. The crown he is given is a royal crown (temporary)(if your dead you can’t wear it forever), he comes from royalty, read revelations, 13 1 and Danial 7 7. When he is givin a bow(which is actually a gun) to conquer, he is givin command of a army, mostly royalty gets that privilage, “Given a crown, and he rode forth victorious to further his victories.”(rev 6 2) He still hasen’t revealed himself. People will know him, royalty is always known, but not as the antichrist…yet.
Thank you for your comment. But, I believe I am correct. Compare the White Horse in Rev 19:11-16 I know that some believe that there will be an antichrist but the Bible states there are many AntichristsSorry, the first horse is not Jesus. So you have it wrong, actually. DJ Dave.
“Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.” (1 John 4:3)
Consider 1 John 2:18: “Just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists.” Yes, “many antichrists,” not one, were responsible for the spiritually troubled situation back in the first century. Today there are, not one, but many antichrists who form the antichrist.
Revelation, 13 1 and Danial 7 7 are clearly taliking about Nations not persons.
Please read this quick snippet from our awake journal on this matter.
*** g01 8/8 p. 21 Who Is the Antichrist? ***
…Yet others believe that the antichrist is still to come and that he will appear as a shrewd, ruthless politician who is out to rule the world. They believe that the wild beast of Revelation chapter 13 is a specific reference to the antichrist mentioned by John. They say that its mark of 666 will somehow identify this future champion of wickedness.
Those promoting these ideas assume that John pointed to just one antichrist. But what do his words show? Consider 1 John 2:18: “Just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists.” Yes, “many antichrists,” not one, were responsible for the spiritually troubled situation back in the first century. Today there are, not one, but many antichrists who form the antichrist class. Collectively, they have heaped spiritual ruin upon mankind. (2 Timothy 3:1-5, 13) Who make up the antichrist?
Let us look at the wild beast of Revelation chapter 13 as a possibility. The apostle John wrote: “The wild beast that I saw was like a leopard, but its feet were as those of a bear, and its mouth was as a lion’s mouth.” (Revelation 13:2) What do these elements signify?
Bible scholars have noted a connection between **Revelation chapter 13 and Daniel chapter 7. **God gave Daniel a vision of figurative beasts, including a leopard, a bear, and a lion. (Daniel 7:2-6) What meaning did God’s prophet assign to them? He wrote that those wild animals symbolized earthly kings, or governments. (Daniel 7:17) So we can logically conclude that the wild beast of Revelation represents human governments. Since these governments oppose God’s Kingdom, they constitute a part of the antichrist.
[SIGN]When he is givin a bow(which is actually a gun) to conquer[/SIGN] ??? really?
What scripture do you believe supports this “one” Antichrist?
The poll results are surprising. If yes, what points that way. If no, why not?
I know Jesus said no one knows when, but he also said to be aware of the signs.
As an individual, what do you think?
This “gospel of the kingdom” will be preached on earth during and after the tribulation period. The Body of Christ will be long gone [to heaven] prior to this time frame. In this dispensation of the grace of God we are to proclaim the “gospel of the grace of God” that was given to Paul for us. Two entirely different gospels and purposes. I will be happy to expand on this if you desire.Thank you. 10:10 which is also the same word as found in Mt 24:27, 37, 39; 1Co 15:23; 16:17; 2Co 7:6, 7; Php 1:26; 2:12; 1Th 2:19; 3:13; 4:15; 5:23; 2Th 2:1, 8, 9; Jas 5:7, 8; 2Pe 1:16; 3:4, 12; 1Jo 2:28…

It seems the one thing our Lord Jesus Christ did not reveal to the 11 apostles prior to His departure was the time element. He had just spent 40 days using the O.T. prophecies to explain the “kingdom” that is promised to Israel. You note that they then asked Him, “Will you, AT THIS TIME, RESTORE AGAIN THE KINGDOM TO ISRAEL?” They fully understood what He was teaching about this earthly kingdom because He “Opened their understanding of the Scriptures.” After He told them it was not for them to know the time element, he departed into the clouds. Of much interest is the fact that the apostles very first act was to bring their number back up to 12. This was necessary for them to fulfill the role our LORD had set for them in Mt. 19:28. Peter actually offers the return of the LORD to set up this kingdom in Acts 3:19-21. Notice he says that “All the prophets have foretold this.” The Body of Christ, by way of contrast, was unknown to the prophets or to anyone else until revealed to the apostle Paul.Thank you.
