The rosary is a private/personal devotion. It can take pretty much any form that the person or persons praying it wish. They can only pray the sorrowful mysteries, or only the joyful, or any two of the mysteries. It is not a liturgy that is formulated by the Church, it is a private devotion that individuals are free to use however best suits them.
