Right. It seems like he took the point about how the Triduum can, in a sense, be viewed as one liturgical day and then extrapolated from that an erroneous conclusion.Your MC did not quite get his facts straight.

The Triduum is indeed considered to be one continuous Liturgy. However, the conclusion that one must attend “everything or nothing” is not anything said by the Church.To what I noticed our parish priest didn’t make any sign of the cross during the start of good Friday nor did he give last blessings at maundy Thursday and good Friday and he didn’t start the mass at eastern vigil with the sign of the cross but during the easter vigil he did give the final blessing.
