Are the visionaries in Medjugorje real?

Do these same people throng to the Eucharistic table? There, Jesus is truly present: Body Blood, Soul and Divinity. I think Our Lady would like to see us **there. **
That’s a good point, a good litmus test would be whether Eucharistic devotion has increased or decreased, because Satan would love nothing more than to decrease Eucharistic devotion. Satan would never increase devotion to the Eucharist.

I hope this has helped

The problem with this is that even though there may be short-term good results for these people, what happens if/when the Church officially condemns the apparitions?

Many, many people have said that they would not be able to obey the Church and would separate from the Church if she would make such a declaration. An apparition which inspires such a spirit of disobedience cannot be considered to be having good fruits.
Not being able to obey the Church on such a ruling would be one thing, but separating from the Church, even if she ruled erroneously, would not be the spirit of Christ. Also, can’t really judge it on a persons comment they probably made off the cuff and in haste.

I think people will have to wait and see. I wouldn’t be quick to condemn, nor would I be quick to approve.

I hope this has helped

If the local bishop condemned it would this mean no priest would be allowed to say Mass there or even go there?

Saying no supernatural origin is kind of a limbo for some people because I feel an apparition of this magnitude if not from God must be from Satan.

I’m still not 100% sure whether Garabandal has been condemned or not.

Nelka, based on the reasoning you just put forward, it would be improper for me to analyze and pick apart the words of anyone, regardless of the reason.

Have a pro-abort at your doorstep?
Nope, you can’t pick apart their veiled emphemisms and get to the truth that what they mean by “choice” is actually “murder”. That would be “defining who I am”, which is a bad thing. (satire )

Have a priest who is pro-LGBT?
Nope, you can’t argue or disagree, or reveal the deeper problems with their arguments, because that would be too judgemental!!

So when a poster reads your post, determines the likely intended meaning of that post, and responds to that meaning instead of going face-on with the vocabulary you used, that’s not “judging”, like you said, but that’s just normal. It’s dialogue.

If it turned out that people thought you said something that you didn’t intend, just clarify. Retract by stating plainly what you do and don’t believe. We don’t mind if you demonstrate that we misunderstood you. That’s part of the process.

A lot of the statements made by the alleged apparition go against the doctrine of the faith. For this reason alone I choose not to get involved with it.

Everybody should be aware that we are FORBIDDEN to discuss the content of any unapproved revelations so what the alleged visionaries said cannot be posted here.

Just Google “Medjugorje doctrinal problems” and you will see many sites that discuss this.

Untrue, we are only disallowed from “promoting” unapproved private revelations.

For some reason I can’t find the thread with the list of banned topics anymore… anyone know where it is?

The Papal Envoy assigned to Medjugorje currently, said last week that the confessions in Medjugorje are a miracle, that confessions are fading in Europe and the Western world, and that one evening in Medjugorje recently there were 50 priests hearing confessions.

He said he has seen good fruits of Medjugorje in his own parishioners prior to being appointed as Papal envoy to Medjugorje

He has also said in the last two weeks that Medjugorje’s bishop no longer has jurisdiction over the apparitions because it has been passed on to the Pope, and Congregation of the Faith,

He has said that the decision on Medjugorje has not been officially finished and declared by the Pope or Congregation of Faith yet, and that he will accept their decision when the final decision is made. That the church is always slow to arrive at the final decision.

And at a Pilgrim mass he specifically prayed to Our Lady Queen of Peace (which is Our Lady of Medjugorje’s title).
Some people always have visionaries of virgin mary in Medjugorje, the most famous one is Mirjana.

Are the apparitions in Medjugorje approved by the Church already? I heard that Vatican do not approve these visionaries, what are the reasons?

And do you all think Mirjana’s visionaries and messages every month real? If not, then why does she need to pretend? I think she does see Mary talking to her… and I can’t think of why she needs to pretend…

Based on my experience in the past on what kinds of threads the mods lock and what kinds they don’t, I’m pretty sure the rule is banning the promotion of these unapproved apparitions, not just discussion of them.

I’m pretty sure “Do not post material from unapproved private revelations” just means that we can’t post the matter of them (such as posting a list of prayers from a superstitious cult, or posting multiple links or paragraphs promoting an apparition, etc.).

I guess we’ll have more information on this if this thread is locked. 😛

It seems obvious to me that "“Do not post material from unapproved private revelations” means nothing that has been said by alleged seers can be posted here and discussed so provided that does not happen there would not be a reason to lock the thread.

Well based on threads I’ve seen not get locked in the past, that does not appear to be the case.

The Medjugorie threads in the past all start off generally but when they eventually move to discussing the content of the unapproved revelations they have been closed.

The content of the visions is definitely not allowed.
These threads try to follow the rules of the church on this subject. As an example, one of the visionaries was making a tour, in 2013. The CDF found out about it, and notified the US bishops that the clergy was banned from being at any event that took for granted that the visions were true. The laity was also warned that they should not take such visions as true, until, and if the Church approved them. Although an investigation has been done, the truth or falsity has not been announced.

The tour mentioned above was not totally cancelled, but made much smaller, as the Bishops were obedient. I don’t know if any other tours have been attempted. Please, if you wait to keep this thread open, don’t discuss the contents of the visions, or assume them to be true. There are many sites online that can answer any questions you may have, whether you believe in these apparitions or not.
