…It doesn’t matter, to all who read this, Islamic or not, if you have friends, daughters, sisters, et al, who do this, please spread the word that it probably doesn’t count. …This is what I am talking about.

I live in an area where there are an ever increasing amount of Persian and Arabic women. The lighter skined Persians I have especially noticed doing this. Apparently, they ARE Muslim because they wear the head scarves (albeit far back on their brow, but, careful not to show hair) which I understand is for modesty’s sake, HOWEVER, this is null and void, I would think, when they are wearing skin tight form fitting clothes. If I can see your pantyline (and I have) then when men see it, their hair has GOT to be the last thing they think about. If I can see the outline of your body detail, it’s not really modesty no matter how much your head is covered, is it?

UGH!! Ladies!! I’d rather have your hair down and in slightly baggy clothing than skin-tight clothes with the head scarf!! …However, I do like the Islamic women who DO dress modestly acompanied by the head scarf because I think that is more appropriate than 14 year old girls with daisy dukes on (with writting across the butt, nonetheless), and showing a middrift & a tight top.

Salaam Brother;
I am Muslim man and yes I agree, what you have seen is in contrast with the Islamic dress and contradicts it.
Not showing the forms of the woman wearing it is one of the conditions an Islamic dress should meet.
An example of Hijab Here

Salaam Sister;
Sorry, I could not see it from your profile, so I made an assumption, the wrong one.

Some words about Hijab.
The Arabic word Hijab comes from the root verb Hajaba, which means to hide or to conceal. Looks like the girls you saw were not hiding that much.

The Hijab is a divine command as stated in the holy Qur’an: “And say (O! Muhammad) to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands…” (Qur’an 24:31)

And also: “O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (Qur’an 33.059)

The Muslim woman who chooses to wear the Hijab is in fact following a divine command; it has nothing to do with oppression, as we often hear some say.

A Muslim man who lower his gaze as commanded by the holy Qur’an and who -when outside- meets only covered women will -when he comes back to his house- have nothing in mind, no pictures to compare with; he would fully appreciate the beauty of his wife, because he would have no “higher standards” in mind to disturb him; the Hijab is therefore a protection for both men and women and hence the family as a whole, and by extension, the society . The love for one’s wife or husband can achieve a similar result, but when the temptations are tantamount and in every corner, the results are not guaranteed, proof is the widespread adultery.

Salaam.

IF Muhammad didnt care enough for women then Allah (or he??) would have certainly not revealed those verses. Beauty is a something that supposed to be seen and to be admired by people. Beauty is not the same like nudity which is doesnt cover any single piece of your body. 😛 have a good day!

When we guys see a woman goodies displayed ( we do our best not to), praising God is the last thing which comes to our mind. :whacky:

Just wondering:

Are you speaking for “guys” in general, or Islamic guys?

Salaam;
I am speaking for Muslims guys who, surrouded by half nakedness, are struggling to live by the teachings of their religion, mainly to lower the gaze and protect the private parts: “Say (O! Muhammad) to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do” (Qur’an 24:30)
And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty…” (Qur’an 24:31)

Is there any Biblical commands against the lust? There should be some I am sure.

Not to say anything in favour of immodest clothing, but the female body can be viewed in more than just an exclusively sexual context, you know.

I would like to know one thing. An attractive woman walks in with a tight short skirt. Which man here is not thinking something sexual? a woman’s body, when left unprotected and uncovered, is seen as something sexual by normal men.

women should cover what God told them to cover and men should lower their gaze…**AND ** men should cover what God told them to cover and women should lower their gaze…and we will end up with a MUCH healthier society, inshAllah.

Good observation! I am a Muslim female who wears hijab. What we have to understand is the “head covering” DOES NOT equal Hijab. It is a PART of hijab only. For some women who cover their hair, they would probably be better offf taking it off their head and covering their chest with it.

But i want to add something…when i started wearing hijab, i basically had my old clothes and a piece of material to cover my hair with. Slowly, alhamdulilah, i started to dress in looser clothes and make sure nothign shows. So sometimes these women do not know or maybe are just starting out…and God knows best.

Truth be told, I don’t normally pay attention. A short, tight-fitting skirt may be eye-catching, but to dwell on it would be sinful.

Women are not sex objects. Your religion has seen women as sex objects. Women are just people. We can dress the way we want to without being afraid of men get horny.

= “O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested.” 33:59=

STILL, wearing hijab doesnt make women smarter and understand what hijab really is. In my country they wearing hijab with tight shirts where the curves of your body really obvious to see by people… wearing jeans britneyspears looks like (hipster) or get caught on the tape having sex in the amusement park with her bf :o:eek: what a shame!!

This is a joke isnt it? 😃 … or it is not? :eek: well let see… for beauty soap, I think I dont have to explain here… everybody knows what soap is for. as for the car advertisement, they express the beauty of the car itself. If you do not have horny mind then these kind of advertisements are nothing but commercial info only.

Hello

Well , i i dont know about other men here but certainly the mroe i see uncovered skin the more it does things to me , weather it is beauty soap advertisement or car advertisement or anything. I dont see any problem with lust . God gave humans lust . He also gave us the ways to control it and manage it and direct it . He instructed us to cover our bodies.

I dont see women as sex objects . However i am attacted to them as i am from the opposite sex . I would not blame a women for feeling lust towards a good looking handsome sports muscle guy in a bathing trunck . By bieng attracted to him he is not looked upon as sex object. Its nature.

Thats why men and women are instructed tio cover .

I dont knwo if i make sense to any one here , specially men .

Peace
