So what if somehow CAF makes a bit of money. Do you begrudge them that? I don’t know why the ads are problematic either. Scroll past them and don’t read them. Easy.
I really don’t think it is all about money. If there is a specific thing you posted that you’re concerned others will stumble on, I’m sure you can PM the mods and discuss that. But ultimately what drives these forums is conversation, and if everyone wants to withdraw what they said, it begins to look like swiss cheese.Good rule, common sense. But if for some reason you want to delete all that content you wanted to remain online permanently, CAF provides no option for that because it makes money for them.
I don’t think you should worry about it too much @RCIAGraduateAlt2 but maybe PM the mods just to let them know which account you’re using now. CAF has that rule primarily because unfortunately some users will get banned and then try to come back to cause more trouble. If you lost your login details (or couldn’t get back in to your account, like some folk couldn’t when the forum switched over to discourse), I can’t imagine the mods would have a problem with it.It is, oh dear, I lost my old account. Well, kinda,
Maybe I am, but can’t I state a fact that the number was high? I think it was 2000 posts, you judge whether that’s flattering or what, it doesn’t really matter. It isn’t about my old account, it is about anyone who wants to remove their data, and some people are not happy with that. In principle I don’t think it’s right that they refuse fellow Catholics on no other grounds than it helps their business model. That is the point.I think you’re flattering yourself. In any case, you posted it on CAFs forum. If you wanted to maintain exclusive control over your posts, you should’ve posted it on your own private blog or whatever.
Because it’s posted by other users who can decide wether they want delete their own reply? So why the ability to delete posts but not replies?
