I am currently in the process of obtaining my Masters Degree in Theology. I started it as kind of a side thing I always wanted to do to learn more about my faith. I didn’t really ever plan on changing careers, but now I feel like I’m being drawn to teaching. I signed-up to teach CCD this year, but now I’m interested in teaching at one of the Catholic K-8 schools in the area.
I explored teaching many years ago and really liked it, but at the time I wasn’t willing or able really, to go back to school and get my teaching certification. Now I believe God is leading me to this. Does anyone have a similar experience? I’m wondering what my next step should be. I’m thinking of calling one of the schools and talking to the Principal and asking for his or her guidance. Any suggestions? How did those of you with little or no experience break in to this career?
