Are there any church congregations that are on fire? with Christ

If there’s one thing in your post that resonated in me is perhaps a secondary concern of yours: the thirst for fellowship. Walking the way of Faith, though fulfilling as it is, may be lonely at times.

If this is the case, then perhaps you miss opportunities to share your spiritual life with others also enthusiastic about it.

I’ve felt the same way at my parish, even though I tried ministries, Bible studies, parish missions and parish retreats. I just couldn’t find fellowship in my parish and I doubt that most parishes are much different.

In the end, that led me to seek a spiritual director and to consider a vocation a third-order member.

Perhaps, like me, God is indicating other possibilities to you, that His Church has many more venues besides parishes.

Are there any areas of the country who are on fire for Christ and worship Him suitably? (i know many will say that one should stay where they are planted, but why not join with others who worship with great joy)

I feel the same way you do. Iv’e been keepnig up with Vatican news and EWTN coverage and there are many well respected members of the church who are calling for a new reform in the Catholic church, Some of my resourses are going to be at this conference I’m going to Jan.2nd thru Jan.6 called focus.focusconference.org/home/.

Iv’e been stuggling with the parrish I go to also. Its a big wealthy parrish. However there is a lot of liturgical abuse and irreverence not only from the congregation but also the priest, deacons and those who serve. There is a luke warmness there that just irratates me. I could go on and on about the things Iv’e wittnessed and experienced at this parrish. My wife wanted to go to another parrish months ago but I told her we should pray first and discern. As of the first of the year we will be joining a parrish in another town atleats a 45 min. drive away compared to the 10 min. drive to our previous parrish. This new parrish has priest and Deacons and those who serve who are on fire for God. No ones up doing any holy rolying or screaming alleahlua but there is a true reverence and respect for the church and the mass. The preist give really good homilies that deal with todays most contraversal isssues such as pornagraphy. Iv’e spent time with two of the preist in confession and spiritual guidance and man these guys are for real. I’m sorry, in my case I’m not one to sit back and just deal with the luke warmness and abuse that goes on in the Church. I pray, discern, and find good holy people to pray and worship with. I suggest watching EWTN regularly and listening to Catholic radio. Also go to a Catholic conference when you can and meet others who are on fire for God. I agree it does seem like there are more catholics who are asleep in there faith and it ain’t good, because the devil is not asleep and he’s doing every thing he can to destroy you and everyone else that gets in his way. His mission is mass destruction! Hence why God says what he says in Rev. 3:15,17. Don’t settle for man! Fight the good fight and don’t do it alone. Look for those who are on fire. We can’t help those who are helpless and a sleep if we don’t have a good foundation and a network of people likeminded.
 
now if you are looking for fellowship with others whose hearts burn with the fire [besides here] hang out after mass don’t be one of the first to run out after communion,you might be suprised how many people are in the church after everyone else is gone , or stop in to church at different during the day , weekdays the people there are not there to get out of the weather :knight1: :irish2: 2nd Cor.9:15
