I have tried many times to become a true daily Communicant. I tried last year lasted about 3 months. This year I decided more vigoursly to try again. I started last Feb and Thanks God am still there! Please pray for me that I persevere. It does take effort as the temptations to stay away are strong.
Why?
Well. Let me list the reasons.
I love Him
The whole of Paradise is there and if I wanna go there I need to get to know them!
I need daily nourishing in Word and Sacrament
After reception it is wonderful to hold Him completely (Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity) in my Heart while He is holding me in His
It is the worlds greatest miracle and I am given the privilage of witnessing it
I acknowledge my nothingness and my dependance on His immensity
I am in continual need of His Mercy and Love
I am answering His call “Come to Me”
My day takes on a supermatural character and my teaching improves as I hand it over to Him
I find I am more convinced about the Faith
I worry less about things
God comes up in conversation many more times with my colleagues
I see Him more clearly in those around me
Others have asked me to remember their intentions
It keeps me from serious sin and drives me to Confession
I could go on.
