Are there any exceptions to the no meat on a Lenten Friday?

we have been invited to a Greek independence day/birthday party tomorrow, ( Friday) My acquaintance was telling me the menu, ( mostly meats) I asked if any fish or vegetarian dish would be available, as we don’t eat meat on Friday. He said there will be a spinach & feta pie. However, due to health reasons, I cannot eat pastry, so I would have to pick the spinach out of the pie. Is there any exemptions for invites out?

Hi,

Ordinarily, there are no exceptions. But this year the Solemnity of the Annunciation falls on Friday, March 24th. Since it is a solemnity, meat may be eaten on that day.
