My good friend who is an Orthodox Christian has been giving the Catholic church a try. She has been comming with my family to Sunday family Mass for a few weeks now.
(for those of you who responded to my last thread regarding Byz. Rite and our lack of one locally, yes this is the same friend, she is still interested)
Anyhow, here is the thing, she has been doing some reading and studying, learning more about “Orthodoxy” and more about the Catholic church. The split, the schism, what the true differences are etc etc. But it seems like everything she has read was from an Orthodox standpoint and really makes Orthodox seem so much more distant then I have always thought it truely was. Yes I know there are difference but I found this one website, east2west.org that really hit home with my friend. I was wondering if there are any other sites like this, or even better, books like that, that show how The Catholic churchs of the East were “Legitimatly” able to reunite with the Latin church and truely compliment our theology.
Oh and by the way, Please do not derail my thread. I am trying to help my friend reach a very important spiritual decision. The last time I posted in here the thread had to be split.
