many towns have a ministerial council, in which representatives of the various churches meet together periodically to address issues relevant to their ministries. For instance in my old town, the social service people in each congregation got together to coordinate distribution of Thanksgiving food baskets, Christmas gifts and the like so every family in need would be served, but would not be double-dipping, and so that distribution would be more orderly. Our local food bank works that way, each church or other agency that participates covers a given geographic area, so people don’t have to drive so far for aid.
there is talk in the ministerial council here of jointly purchasing, managing and staffing a place for youth to gather, since there is nothing else but clubs or going to Mexico to attract them, I hope something happens with it, but doubt all parties will agree on details.
