Hello everyone. So I am currently on my 8th day for Saint Cecilia’s Novena. What happens when I reach the 9th day? Is there more that I can do or do I restart back to day 1? Would it be possible if I could continue to pray the same Novena for as long as I want to? Thank you, everyone, for all your help. 😃

Most novenas are 9 days as you’re aware. Except the 54 day Rosary Novena. Once you reach the 9th day you could continue again or allow a few days or longer to pass before commencing again. There is no reason why you can’t continue to pray that prayer for as long as you want - it just ceases to be a novena then, as it is no longer being prayed for 9 days.

Usually you pray a Novena for 9 days unless it’s specified to pray a devotion for a longer period of time, as CRV already mentioned.

After praying for the 9 days of the Novena, you would just stop praying that Novena.

I have heard of extending a 9 day Novena that you’re praying-- “you” meaning anyone–for another 9 days in a period of thanks-giving to God.

I don’t personally believe that there are any particular rules regarding Novenas. 🙂

Some people pray Novenas constantly. For example, they’ll finish one Novena to one particular saint, and then they’ll start to pray another one to another particular saint.

As for myself, sometimes I will say more than one Novena at one time, to more than one saint. 🙂

Usually a novena is nine days but you can always do it differently. It is you intention and love that counts not how many days or what novena you do

If you just want to do 9 days you say day 9 and stop. If you want to do longer or do a Perpetual Novena you just start from the beginning again.
