Atheism deals with faith, or lack thereof.
Agnosticism deals with knowledge.
Agnosticism deals with knowledge.
Agnosticism has the word gnosis at its root, which is a greek word for knowledge, however that’s just how they want to spin things. There is Gnosticism, which is to gain spiritual knowledge, and then there is Agnosticism, which is simply the idea that the truth about the existence of a deity can never truly be known.Atheism deals with faith, or lack thereof.

Atheists are often very knowledgeable but they take little or no time in trying to understand who this Jesus is orwhy many people believe so strongly in Him.They are so engrossed in their particular studies or fields of occupatiion that they can’t take the time to put all their ingrained training aside, take it on faith that God does exist and turn around in an opposite direction if you will and then have to deny much of what the’ve learned to be true.A physist for example is still trying to discover how the universe was created.he’ an evolutionist. Its difficult to abandon this because his whole learning breaks down.Agnostics view is I just don’t know.Since God can’t be seen and proved he exists real concrete observable ways I can’t make a choice for or against. It takes an effort to know God and first you have to admit your a sinner which may mean giving something up that is dear to you.Taking that 1st step is painful and we don’t know where it will lead us.The very thought of God and all His don’t do’s is scary and can keep us from knowing the truth.Atheism deals with faith, or lack thereof.

This is a good definition. Most Agnostics I know admit to a higher being or creator, but do not believe in organizaed religon being useful or needed.Atheism is the belief that there is no God.
Agnosticism is the belief that the existence of God cannot be known or proven. (Some people will consider themselves Agnostics even if they think it might be possible to prove, but they personally have not seen the proof yet.)
Gnostics in a porrly worded nutshell…believe in a God and a spiritual realm that is perfect, they also believe that the material world is evil and to return to the spirtual world you have to recieve special “knowledge” that will essentially “save” you.Agnosticism has the word gnosis at its root, which is a greek word for knowledge, however that’s just how they want to spin things. I picture it like this.
You have a fence running along infinitely. On one side of the fence is a beautiful green pasture occupied by believers. On the other side of the fence you have a barren desert wasteland occupied by the atheists. Agnostics are the ones who are sitting on the fence.
Technically, if they admit a creator, they would be theists (maybe even Deists from the sound of it) and not agnostics. This is a good definition. Most Agnostics I know admit to a higher being or creator, but do not believe in organizaed religon being useful or needed.
