Ok, I just wanted someone to actually say it: “You can receive sanctifying grace with no faith whatsoever, and without any repentance, as long as you undergo the ritual.”

If a person lies about what they believe at the time of their baptism that’s between them and God at the time of their judgement. Can we find it upsetting that someone would do that? Of course we can. But, the church is not going to turn people way who say they want to be baptized in faith, we can never truly know what’s in someone else’s heart.

If he or she has no faith at all, that baptism cannot be valid.
Can. 865 §1. For an adult to be baptized, the person must have manifested the intention to receive baptism

I would suggest that a person who presents themselves for baptism manifests the intention to receive it.

However, we are talking here in this thread about non-believers (whether baptized or not themselves) who bring forward their children to be baptized. Whether their motive is good or bad, the baptism is certainly valid. It is not licit, but it is definitely valid.

But if an atheist presents himself for baptism and facbricates his intention, my contention is that it would be invalid. No sanctifying grace received. No repentance means no forgiveness.
