Are these New Age rosaries?

Other than being made of plastic, what would possibly make you think they are “New Age”?

(Incidentally, here is the site that is selling them, for whoever else cares to look.)

Those are just cheap plastic rosaries. My father bought a bunch exactly like those about 15 years ago. They’re fine.

I don’t know, I own 3 but then I read this article…

apparitionsites.com/apparition-sites/new-age-rosaries.htm

Could be a false rumor 🤷
Absolute and unmitigated nonsense. These are the same type of people as the loons that look at some geometric pattern behind the Pope and determine that it’s obviously a sign of pagan sun worship. I hesitate to even link to such a site, but take a read through some of the dreck aloha.net/~mikesch/wheel.htm (sample: “Here is a photo of the papal palace with the pope at the window of his apartment. Note the many eight-pointed stars of Ishtar in the decorative work above the windows.”) to get a better sense of the idiocy of seeing some smudged shape on a tiny plastic crucifix and declaring that it is a satanic symbol. Do you know what they do? They take something you can’t see, tell you it is there, and then make up some sort of claim about it. Did you know that in the Catholic Answers “angel” picture at the top of this page, there is a hidden triangular symbol symbol, the “Rajputra triangle,” of Vedic Hinduism? This is easily corroborated by the fact that Catholic Answers is owned by a Hindu propaganda group. (See what I did there? Made up some false facts with a false name, and then “corroborated” them with something completely untrue that you are not going to check.)

Note that the site you linked also fraudulently claims that this warning was “listed” on EWTN, and shows a cropped screenshot. If you bother to find the actual EWTN page, you’ll see that it was only listed in a question that somebody asked.

New age? What an idea.

Rosaries like these have been around all of my life (65 yrs).
They cost almost nothing and are often given to little children.
Also missionaries can easily distribute these around the world.
This kind of rosary is almost weightless - and it’s washable.

Satan’s minions are in full swing here. If you click “back to other reviews” on that “warning” site, you will see it’s an anti -catholic scheme to discourage Marian devotion.

The site attempts to appear Catholic. Deception is the Devil’s way.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who wander throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Thanks.

Good work detective 👍

A rosary is just a tool to help you pray… the rosary. It just requires the correct amount and sequence of beads, and a cross or crucifix, to do the job. Other religious traditions, including Islam, make use of prayer beads for the same reason.

And here’s a bit of news for the OP: you don’t need a rosary to pray the rosary! I’ve prayed the rosary counting the decades on my fingers!!!

So while owning a nice (or cheap depending on your circumstances) rosary is a nice devotional to have, it isn’t necessary. You can pray the rosary on a fancy blessed rosary, on a cheap plastic blessed rosary, on a cheap plastic unblessed rosary, or on your fingers or toes or even using match sticks or chocolate chip cookies to keep track of where you are.

I must admit though, it’s been a while since I’ve prayed the rosary. My own particular prayer devotion is to the Liturgy of the Hours (monastic version), though I do own a beautiful olive wood rosary blessed by an African Benedictine monk, that I purchased at Subiaco in Italy!

Are the beads actually tiny, round Budhas? I can’t tell.
They look like tiny round beads to me. I’ve seen this type of rosary, sometimes hanging from a car’s rear-view mirror. Just a cheap plastic rosary.

I have seen some new age rosaries, or satantic counterfeits that contain a hidden serpent around the neck of Jesus on the cross as well as having the 4 points of the cross replaced with 4 pentagrams which apparently are used in some nefarious symbolism…allegedly.

That chocolate chip cookie version sounds intereting…maybe you could reward yourself after:D

Please do NOT be fooled! I am a Seminarian who was recently told by one of my former religious instructors that there ARE Satanic rosaries being handed out at shrines and pilgrimage locations throughout the word, especially in Europe. It has nothing to do with Church symbolism or how other religions misinterpret Catholic symbolism. If you have plastic rosaries, either in the color of blue, white, or pink, have you ever taken the time to actually, truly, look at the crucifix? Some of them are missing the INRI sign at the top of the cross, over the head of Christ. Instead, many of these “rosaries” are replaced with a staff or a small cross. Harmless, right? Wrong again. The staff usually represents the staff of the Greek god Mercury, which will have a serpent wrapped around it. The small cross will also have a serpent wrapped around it, symbolizing the Satanic idea in the the triumph of Satan over Christ, as the serpent has his fangs open as if he is about the bite the face of Christ. Sometimes the crucifix will also be adorned with symbols that will look like a sun or moon but will really be New Age symbols. The back of the crucifix will also have strange puncture marks in it. Believe me, it’s the not way the plastic is made. Plastic isn’t just “accidentally” made to look like that. Don’t get me wrong, pray the Rosary; it’s one of the most important devotions in our church. St. Louis Marie de Montfort will back me up on that one. Just check your rosaries. Some people hand them out knowing exactly what they are, while others are just clueless. The Rosary is such a beautiful devotion, which is exactly why the Evil One would love to tamper with it. For those of you who think I’m crazy or lying, just look to Scripture and read about Christ speaking on the attack of his true Church. These attacks are subtle and, worst of all, they happen from within, from servants of the Evil One who want to see the Church implode on itself. Pray the Rosary, just not with these plastic ones that are used to infiltrate the Church. Many Satanic priests and devout New Age practitioners also attempt to put curses on these “rosaries” in order to draw people away from Christ. Do not throw these Rosaries away, or bury them. Burn them. Destroy them completely, and in doing so the Evil One loses his grip on the faithful a little more. “Be serious! Be alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.” Always watch the religious items you buy…many of them may be New Age, Santeria (Yoruba), Voodoo, or just plain Satanic. From yours truly, a Seminarian experienced in six years of study of World Religions, as well as minor studies in Occult practices of the East Indies. Stay strong, stay vigilant, and always ask the Blessed Mother to guide you towards her eternal Son. God Bless.

I see that you are new to the forum, so welcome!

FYI, it is against forum rules to resurrect old threads. And just a little hint: Shorter paragraphs are easier to read than a wall of words.
