There is something new under the sun. Most modern day heresies are just resurrections of those dealt with by the Church in the first few centuries but these guys seem to have come up with something that breaks from the mold.

I sincerely hope that this website is a hoax, some sort of sick joke. This sort of nonsense would give ammunition to every anti-Catholic fear that the Protestants have and set back genuine conversion to the faith.

Our Lady would be highly offeded by the blasphemy of this website. I pray that these people will turn back to God and reject the Satanic nonsense that they are spreading.
 
I believe that one of the priests on EWTN answerd this question a few days ago. Sadly it sems that it’s getting around. 😦
 
I Googled “dominic sanchez falar” who is the author of this ‘secret’ known only to him. He seems like a very troubled soul, posting this heretical tripe wherever he can.
 
I think we should pray for Mr. Sanchez Falar. He is obviously deeply troubled.
 
This is most disturbing for several reasons. First it is idolotry and an attack on our great God the blessed Trinity! It is the revival of paganism. The second reason this is disturbing is that is an insult to our Lady. She was humble, meek, and would never claim Divinity. Her greatness is seen in her submission to God and not by falsly claiming to be a god. Finally, coocks like the one from the web site metioned drive Protestants away from the Church by making them think that Catholics actually believe the nonsense on that Web site. May all glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!

I suppose that if one were to be shown this site as supposed “proof” that Catholics consider Mary to be God, it would only be the work of a few minutes to whip up an equivalent page on Geocities or some other free host, claiming that protestants belive that the three persons of the trinity (left lower case intentionally here) are Martin Luther, John Calvin and King Henry VIII. It would have precisely as much accuracy and be based on precisely as much legitimate authority regarding the various protestant churches as does the web site under discussion regarding the Catholic Church.

Not that I am suggesting that anyone actually do this, it would be grossly dishonest. The above hypothetical situation is proposed for rhetorical purposes only, as a means of showing persons who might try to use this site as a “proof” of Catholic mariolatry, that anyone can create a nutball website claiming anything.

It may have to come to that. When the Blessed Virgin said, “Yes,” to God, she knew that she wasn’t God, but that she was His obedient servant.

I do understand that several people have tried to answer Mr Falar’s Heresy, but it seems that, once again, the Lie has made its the way around the internet before the Truth has had a chance to log on.

That’s just one more reason we have to be vigilent and pray that people such as Dominic Sanchez Falar will be led away from and renounce their errors.

May God bless those who do the work of exposing and refuting heresies, for their work will never be done until the day our Lord returns.

See also references to The Glories of Mary by Alphonsus de Liguori here. Note that this website is determinedly anti-Catholic: the Ian Paisley in the URL is a Northern Irish Protestant church leader and a self-professed supporter of Protestant paramilitary gunmen.

That Mary would be worshipped in some corners of the world is unsurprising: people have worshipped all manner of things over time.

Mary had a child born of the holy spirit. Now, protestants argue that she went on to have other children with joseph, but Catholics argue that in a sense she was “married” to the holy spirit or God, because she concieved by it. When man and wife join, the become one flesh, one body. therefore, mary is the holy spirit. If mary is the holy spirit and the holy spirit is in part God, then mary is God.

Not that i agree with it, but dang if it doesn’t follow logic.

With all due respect, your logic proceeds from faulty assumptions. You say:

The Holy Spirit has no body, but is pure spirit. Therefore, there is no flesh to become one with, no body. The whole thing falls apart here. Nice try, but no cigar.

Besides, the idea that Mary is “the bride of the Holy Spirit” is merely a poetic expression - an attempt to describe the indescribable condescension of God. No Catholic believes there was an actual sacramental “marriage” between Mary and the Holy Spirit. The expression arose because the tender sensibilities of some early Christians could not allow them to imagine two righteous beings producing a child together unless they were, in some sense, “married”. And of course there is no marriage in heaven, so again no cigar.

We believe that when we enter the presence of God, we shall be perfectly united with Him (and with each other) in love. But we will never, ever BE Him.

Bingo… we have a winner. The people who fall for this will fall into two categories.
  1. Hates Catholics already. Already filled with grave misconceptions about the faith.
  2. Completely ignorant about Christianity as a whole.
It’s a shame about those people in group 2, but it’s kind of our responsibility to work against these kinds of things. One more heresy, one more nutjob (from the Phillipines no less… wonder if he knows Jack Chick’s illustrator (also filipino)). Nothing new really. Nothing to get too worked up over. Just another obstacle to overcome. And we can. We always have in the past.

    Wow, is that what the video shows? I couldn’t open the link. That’s terrible and absolutly false. Any “Catholic” acting like that is clearly acting outside the Church and they need help…
