Are thoughts sins

You may have to consult a priest and a psychologist for this sort of a question. Some mentally ill people suffer from involuntary/intrusive violent thoughts. Thoughts are the seed of sin

Christ is the one who came up with it; He actually spoke about the circumvention of God’s Law by introduction of ‘feel-good’ theology (no He did not word it in such terms).

You seem to believe that sinning is ok as long as it is done in the obscurity of the heart and mind–Jesus is of a different thought: ‘better to gauge out your eye, lose your right hand, your foot…’ than end up in hell. But you go ahead and supply your own requirements to God, I’m sure your codes will be just as holy for Him.

It is your positions that come through in your posts
Yes, it hurts to portray man as a failure and not an innocent fellow who can do no wrong because he just is not aware that it is wrong; much like “Christians” who do not know that fornication is sin, that contraception and abortion is killing children in their moms’ wombs and divorce and remarriage is not blessed by Christ.

It is even more hurtful when a sinner, of all people, speaks out for Christ, calls Him the Holy one and accepts that he is the sinner that must give up sin, rather then embrace it along with multitudes of excuses and projections.

Mea culpa!

I don’t enjoy but I play it out in my head before I realize what I do

Then if you aren’t willing it, I’d say don’t get too bent out of shape about it.

Follow up I had another thought violence today I was moving a stool and and imagined putting in on top of the person next to me I dismissed Immediately and never actually had desire is this situation okay but I did play in our in my head for a second

Why did you have such thought?

This is the problem that we must face.

Are Christians called to make excuses for entertaining all sorts of thoughts and ideas (‘not my fault man, it just came to me in the spur of the moment’); that’s ‘feel-good’ theology (everything is possible cause Christ paid the price for sin–so sin happy).

The Call is to be Holy. If I constantly entertain thoughts which derail my spiritual life, am I seeking to get closer to God or to Satan?

What does Scriptures Teach about this? How can a person get closer to God if he/she does not reject Satan? It is not in vain that we are warned that to be friends with the world means to be in enmity with God!

We must seek to reject Satan and all the allures of the world which promise liberties and freedoms away from God.

That old saying does come into play: ‘practice makes perfect.’ Yet, as the other saying goes: ‘it cuts both ways.’ If we practice making excuses soon nothing will seem as wrong.

I’d say don’t beat yourself up about it – if these thoughts are intrusive, and you’re not voluntarily giving consent, don’t dwell on whether you may have possibly thought about it for a second or whatever.
