Are traditionalist priests physically fitter than non-traditionalist priests?

Although it is not likely to make a difference anyway; the ā€œnon-traditional priestsā€ genuflect at the same times a traditional priest does. ?

You know, with all the genuflecting in the Latin Mass. 😃
I have never been to a Latin Mass and don’t know much about them but…

More deep knee bends can make a person fitter…that does seem to make sense. :rotfl:

If they are fitter, perhaps it is because Traditionalist priests are usually younger~

Genuflections wouldn’t make a difference, unless they do 15-reps in 3-sets on each knee 😃

If you think genuflections are a workout, come to a Byzantine parish during Lent when we have our Presanctified Liturgy. Full prostrations with forehead touching the ground. You’d know you’re in bad physical shape (like myself) if you only do 3 at a time and you’re gasping for air by the third one :o:blush:

With all these traditional practices, it isn’t surprising we do not see pudgy depictions of saints 😃

Never trust a skinny priest, like you should never trust a skinny inn-keeper. You want them to have a nice gut on them :D!

The ones I’ve seen also sit up nice and straight – great posture!

Yup, I’ve definitely thought all those knee bends would help one keep fit! I’ve seen a priest chanting the reading holding a big book, kneel and come back up barely out of breath. If I tried that, I know I’d plop right over with the weight of the book! 😃
