Are violent video games immoral?

If it makes one want to go out and maim and shoot and injure and kill people - Yes.

It’s no more immoral than playing ‘cops and robbers’ was 30 years ago.
 
if you are impressionable enough to have violent video games affect you in such a way that you are inclined to act out in violence then there is obviously a problem with that.

But normally i don’t see any problem with violent video games, people like action and conflict, its fairly common place in our society.
 
I echo the sentiments of the previous posters. If you’re not mentally stable to distinguish fantasy from reality, stay away from the consoles and spare us gamers from a bad name.

On the other hand, if you’re well aware of that line. Play away! I find nothing more stress-relieving than hacking and slashing an extremely large monster! :whacky:
 
I would also add that you should treat video games as you would any form of entertainment. How explicit is it? If the violence, language, and sex is too explicit then it is inappropriate.

Also, practice moderation. Entertainment is ok, but not when it occupies too much of your time.
