Are we accompanied by external Spirits while in these bodies?

We are not alone in these bodies. There exist a special Spirit in me that knows all my thoughts and deeds, from my earliest childhood. This Spirit also speaks to me words of wisdom and encourages me to perform good deeds.
 
By external spirits do you mean gaurdian angels? If so, then yes.

Maybe guardian angels, but I was thinking more along the lines of the Holy Spirit and Satan. I believe that they are both alive and well within us. It’s odd that I have the Holy Spirit in me and the prompts of Satan are minimized, but now I have anxiety and depression that gets me down. I really think that whatever is in us has the power to keep track of our good and evil deeds.
 
We have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit when in the state of grace.
We have been assigned a specific guardian angel.
There are other guardian angels around that are assigned to our friends and family we are near.

There are evil spirits roaming this earth trying to destroy us.

How can an evil spirit be within us unless we invite it in?

No! That’s not what we learn from Sacred Tradition.

Only God (in this case, the Holy Spirit) is truly omnipresent and can dwell deep into our soul.

Satan, a mere creature, can only act by suggestion, but cannot penetrate our soul, not even in case of perfect possession. The same can be said of the guardian angel: he’s an extraordinary helper, but cannot penetrate our soul.
 
Satan is good at appearing to be everywhere. God is actually everywhere.

It is like in any war - you want the enemy to think you are everywhere. Small unit tactics are often designed to make the enemy think more people are shooting at them that actually are. It is discouraging!

Satan places thoughts in your head when God allows it to. It is not, however, anywhere near omnipresent. It just wants you to think that.

Satan does have a legion of demons - remember it only took one angel to defeat the whole legion and cast them down to earth (St Michael the Archangel). With God anything is possible.
 
original question - YES. They are everywhere. They have saved my life more than once!

A couple of them were going to be gruesome - one was along fall off a roof (i was a roofer). I was sliding down a very steep pitch with a lot of granules on it. I tried to keep calm and press my body to the roof. That was not nearly enough to save me I know that.

To this day I can not think of a logical reason I stopped. I was picking up speed and suddenly got a ton of traction for NO REASON. I should have continued losing more traction while gaining more speed.

I have plenty of other examples but that one was on my mind earlier today.

I LOVE ANGELS!!!

What do you mean by " external spirits? "

Paragraph #336 of the The Catechism states we are assigned a Guardian Angel at birth who remains with us until death. This Angel watches over us trying to influence us to do God’s will and to to protect us from attacks from Satan and the Evil spirits who would destroy us if allowed. Our Angel tries to protect us from evil moral dangers and temptations from Satan as well. But much of our Angels efforts depend on our cooperation with his inspirations and warnings. I think his presence is particularly evident when we have those " near death " experiences from external dangers - cars, fires, etc. I have had at least half a dozen of these which is proof enough for me.

But it is not known exactly whether your Angel can " read " your mind. However the Blessed Trinity is always immediately present in our inner being, moving us and keeping us in existence and trying to direct us to the Good. And each of the Divine Persons knows every thought, desire, wish, and deed we ever had or will have or might have. That we know for absolute certainty. 👍
