I believe that there were rebellious thoughts in the hearts of angels and God wanted a fully compliant-to-his-will heaven and hence he created humans out of angels and put their sinful thoughts in the latter so that all bad things should happen here on earth at a much smaller scale instead of in heaven at a much bigger level, angels and demons being much more powerful than us. What do you think of this?

It is not compatible with Catholic teaching and understanding. 🙂

Humans and angels are completely different beings. One cannot become the other.

Where did you get such ideas? Not true.

And are you truly “catholic”?

I am very new Catholic but also a fool. So I am here just to learn. This is my own guess theory and nothing else. But isn’t it true that Michael will rise again? So he would incarnate as human and he was also perhaps there in Jesus. So I thought that perhaps we are like little parts of angels. Anyway.

This is Jehovah Witness heresy.

Please find a copy of the catechism and a good priest.

This is the kind of thought process that develops when Genesis is taken as a "story’ and not an actual event. No, we are not angels, God breathed the breath of life into Adam and made him a living soul.

"Wretched One’,

The Catechism of the Catholic Church is online, you can do a search for it.

Frank J. Sheed wrote an excellent book “Theology for Beginners”. It is excellent,…my thirteen year old grandson read it; it is deep thoughts simply put.

Goodness, some of the judgment in this forum is staggering to me. The OP is simply asking if their theory is in alignment with Catholic teaching, which is isn’t. We are all here to learn, and those of us with an ounce of teaching ability are called to respond to each others questions with sincerity, generosity and love. Not with chastisement and condescension. :nope:

In response to the OP, while your idea may be interesting it is not in alignment with Catholic teaching. God made angels and humans as completely separate beings. Angels are spiritual beings with no physical body, whereas Humans are spiritual beings bound to a physical body. Believing them to be interchangeable would be no different than believing a cat can be an elephant. 🙂

I don’t have any hard feelings whatsoever. However thanks for the advice and I will surely go through Catechism, which I have downloaded and also try to go through other materials.
Thanks.

Not unless you live in Los Angeles.:):)🙂

Seriously, no. The fact that you breathe and have limbs disqualifies you from
being or becoming an angel. Angels are pure spirits, we are thinking bodies, and one does not convert to the other.

Well and good…and welcome to the Catholic Church…and these forums.👍

Pardon me…I was not trying to be judgemental…i was asking legitimately if he was truly catholic, as his religion stated…so that I could properly frame an answer. There have been posters that said they are catholic when they turn out not to be…

I was trying to be cautious.

Hi,

Welcome to the true faith. I always feel that true ignorance is not the condition of not understanding an issue; true ignorance is not taking the time and trouble to find out the truth. In which case, in my opinion you are certainly not a fool but simply a person in search of the truth (in which case, you have come to the right place). In answer to your question, no- angels are spiritual beings only, while humans are embodied spirit. Just as God the Father and Holy Spirit are spiritual beings and Jesus became embodied spirit (i.e. human) for our salvation.

God bless

We can be “like” angels in the fact of being holy and carrying out God’s will, but not literally angels who are just spirits. As far as setting the highest bar of being “like” anyone to get into heaven its Jesus. :bowdown:God incarnate. Literally our own flesh and blood. It is an even more intimate relationship with God. This I believe was part of the fall of angels because they were basically jealous of this.

An example when the Archangel Raphael appeared to Tobias in the book of Tobit at the end of his adventure he reveals that the food he ate appeared to be like food and his body only a disguise :onpatrol: of the true Angelic form.:angel1:
