Are we losing potential converts?

Catholic parishes need to be open and busy, and Catholics need to get over themselves so that they can learn and practice their religion for real. Otherwise the Catholic Church in the US is going to dwindle away to nothing in the next few decades.

If things don’t change, you think the last 40 years has been bad? You haven’t seen anything yet.

ARE THERE ANY BISHOPS LISTENING??? The scenarios talked about in this thread are way too prevelant to be ignored!

It’s great to see programs like www.christlife.org… why can’t the Church give funding to this to grow it exponentially?? Is it up to the laity to do everything? These issues are CORE problems that must be addressed by the Bishops…

This will bring Catholic parishes to life— if the members are REQUIRED to take classes like these, we’ll see faith grow, conversions become commonplace and our parishes will start to flourish under the influence of the Holy Spirit in the laity!!

“Is it up to the laity to do everything?”

I’d say the laity should be doing about 95% of the work of evangelization. Right now the laity does 10%; the clergy & religious do 20%; and the other 70% goes wanting.
