Are we really living in a world of exile?

If we are, what are the implications? Ought we not be humble?

The following is a popular prayer that we Catholics use in conjunction with the Holy Rosary:
*
THE SALVE REGINA (Hail Holy Queen): Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!*

Yes, heaven is our home, this world is a land of Nod, east of Eden. We are not at home here.

When Adam and Eve were thrown out of Eden, we became homeless

We were born into exile because of original sin and its effects. Although Baptism removes original sin from the soul, it does not remove all the effects which are primarily an alienation from God, our fellow man, and even His creation. The time will come, though, when all will be reunited in Him, through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the God who became one of us to show us the depth of His love. We can remove some of the effects of alienation by becoming united with our Savior. He will reveal His Divine Mercy to us, and we will lose our fear of aloneness, angst, alienation, death. Our Lady will speak for us if we ask her as we do in the prayer in the OP. “Perfect love casts out all fear.” 🙂

We are not at home here.
We are not of the world…
If we were of the world, the world would love its own; but because we are not of the world, but He chose us out of the world, because of this the world hates us. (see John 15:19) We are not of the world, even as He is not of the world. (see John 17:16)

We are called to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, so that we may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

We serve God and we do not serve the prince of this world who is the god of this world
