Dear Catholic Answers,
I was shocked when our deacon said that kneeling during the Consecration is merely a matter of form and has nothing to do with reverence or Church teaching. He said it’s not required, and I have a hard time believing this. I am 18 and I got into an argument with his 15 year-old son about this. Now there are hard feelings and I want clarification because I feel the kneeling before my King is really important. I want to be able to discuss this with accurate facts. The lack of reverence and conformity to the Pope, the Magisterium and the Teachings of the Church really bothers me. Thank you for your time and ministery.
God bless your work,
Katrina
