The subject that we can become similar to God has come up in conversations with friends. It is really hard to understand or accept the concept although he referred some verses from the bible that do make sense. Please explain these verse to me and why i shouldn’t believe such thing. Rom 8:17, 1Jn 3:2, Gal 4:7, Ps 82:6

God wants us to be morally perfect like He is. In this way, and in terms of our glorification, do we become like God.

I remember reading :“We are God’s children now, What we shall be has not yet come to light,we know that we will be like him…” in one of the epistles, don’t have time to look it up now. The sanctifying grace we receive in Baptism is God’s life within us. We are told to be perfect as out Father in heaven is perfect.

So IMO we will become similar to God in some ways but not of ourselves but by His grace.
