Hi, can someone solve a discussion we had at Mass this morning. We are celebrating Mass in our hall at the moment as we are having a new carpet laid in the church itself. Therefore, we have no tabernacle and all hosts are consecrated and consumed at the Mass. So, no tabernacle, no consecrated hosts. Several people came in and genuflected to the crucifix. This then started a debate on whether or not this is the right thing to do. in the absence of the Blessed Sacrament, do we or even should we genuflect to the crucifix?
