Are we walking tabernacles?

What difference, if any, is there between Jesus, body, blood, soul, and divinity, in the tabernacle, and the same Jesus after we have received him in Communion? Assuming that we are not in mortal sin, his Real Presence should indwell us, correct?

The difference is that Jesus remains present under the appearance of the eucharistic species so long as those appearances remain. In a taberacle, that may be indefinitely. Within us, digestion works on the appearances of bread and wine so that they disappear after about fifteen minutes. Your question though reminds me of something St. Therese of Lisieux once said:

Our Lord does not come down from heaven every day to lie in a golden ciborium. He comes to find another heaven which is infinitely dearer to him – the heaven of our souls, created in his image, the living temples of the adorable Trinity.
