Those who are quite rightly opposed to the ideology of secular radical femenism, are fully aware that it is far from being the sole cause of all our present troubles, but it would be foolishly credulous of us to think that it was not a very potent cause. The general decay in religion (especially in its classic form of ‘the fear of God’); the destructive influence of theological liberalism on Catholic faith and morals; the spread of a rebellious youth culture, all have all had a huge negative impact, but radical femenism has incontrovertibly contributed a very large share to the general malaise.Thank you for expressing it better than I ever could.
The real source of all our troubles is mankind’s rebellion against its Creator, the various ‘problems’ merely being the presenting symptoms of this, dear sister. After all, the ultimate rule for the life that is pleasing to God is ‘Not my will, but Thine’. Self-pleasing, one of the supreme motivations of disordered humanity, is fatal in the long run for man’s happiness and well-being. Femenism is simply rebelling against the divine providential order of things and questioning the Creator’s will and wisdom by refusing to accept gender differences as God-given. Its fundamental error is in thinking that these differences are
accidental (or societal) and not providential. They are allegedlly the result of blind, purposeless forces of nature acting by ‘Chance and Necessity’ as Darwin postulated, certainly nothing to do with the divine providence. Thus, so it is argued, men are free to seek to set them aside by legislation, education and even social engineering, if necessary, as they are not sacrosanct.
Unfortunatley, dear sister, many contemporary Catholics have a tendency to miminize the potent and negative impact of radical femenism, which can often lead others to believe that they might accept and sympathise with its greviances against a society supposedly biased against women.
