Are women really weaker than men?

Heaven help those who only want fairness to be looked after and the room to make just accomodations that recognize the real differences between people, though, because that’s a middle ground that is hard to stand on these days. Go for that and only that, and you get vilified from both directions.
What do you mean by “just accomodations?”

I’m just curious… But why has this thread turned into a debate about radical feminism? So far nobody has condoned radical feminism or it’s negative effects in trying to eliminate all differences between men and women. We are all on the same page that it is not good and has caused much damage. So why are people still bringing it up?

See my post above. “Just accomodations” is code for government force being applied to every single human relationship you can imagine.

In my case, it’s because I am unsure on what the Church says about men’s rights. That, and I want to do something against radical feminism invading here in the Far East from the West!

How often have men been systematically disenfranchised by women? In how many regions were men denied any influence in politics by women? Denied the right to vote by women? Denied the right to own property by women? Etc., etc., etc. I swear some of you act like everything has been peachy-keen for women in the past two millenia.

Clearly some people are not convinced…

The Church of course teaches that men and women have equal rights because they are equal in dignity. I find I hard to believe that you are not already aware of this. If you want to avoid radical feminism encourage a true feminism, one that recognizes the value of women while at tue same time recognizing the real differences that exist between men and women. One of the most important things is to make sure that women are not oppressed because of perceived differences. This is what leads to them rejecting all difference as oppressive, they see the injustice that has been done to them based upon perceived differences and then reject the idea of any difference between men and women because they fail to make the distinction between perceived and real differences.

I’m still not sure why this is being discussed on this thread.

You are correct, and yet the problem of radical feminism still exists.
Also, I have axes to grind against radical feminism.

There is a huge difference between radical feminism and those who desire that women and men be treated according to their equal dignity. Wanting to ensure women are allowed to vote and own property etc is desiring justice, and does not mean that one is a radical feminist or approves of radical feminism. So no, I still have yet to see anyone on this thread approve of radical feminism.

Is it me, or was feminism hijacked by it’s more radical members to shove misandry down people’s throats?

If you have axes to grind with them why not go find a place where they are arguing for radical feminism. Nobody here is supporting them 🤷

Good point.
I do want to read the arguments against radical feminism here in this thread. 🙂

Yep. This ^^. There’s nothing left but radical feminism anymore. NOW still puts out “scholarship” claiming women are still oppressed in all the same ways, and even that it’s worse now! I mean, really?

I’ve seen them use their various arguments (wage gap, reproductive rights, among other things) in order for them to get entitlements. It is funny that reality and women’s choices tend to defeat them. 🙂
Should I post that Time Magazine cover where it has breastfeeding?

Ah, but even the most rudimentary perusal of the origins of the Second Wave shows Socialist and Communist Party connections all over the place. Betty Freidan herself was an avowed Socialist and an activist one at that. That movement was always intended to subvert American society and turn us into a country where the State controls all, and pays for everything through confiscatory taxes. It also must break down the family, because that is an alternative outlet for loyalty and social investment beside the State. The crud you see today is the beginnings of the realization of their mission.

Same with environmentalists and just Leftists in general, as well.
Dear JacarandaPurple,

Cordial greetings and a very good day. Jolly good obeservation that and something often conveniently forgotten these days.

However, it should come as no big surprise since the egalitarianism of femenism has so much in common with the socialist outlook. Indeed, being a femenist inavariably (though not always) means being on the extreme left almost by default since its world-view is far removed from the conservatism of right wing politics. Femenism is essentially a revolutionary anti-Christian movement and an extremely dangerous one at that.

Betty Freidan was indeed, dear friend, an avowed socialist who had been a communist propagandist since her student days, and we know that the destruction of the family has always been central to the communist plan for world government (*The Communist Manifesto *1848). Moreover, is it any wonder that Freidan did not want anyone to know of her radical antecedents?, for were her subversive back history common knowledge, her book, The Feminine Mystique, would not have sold in excess of five million copies. The Communists always operate by subterfuge, always pretending to be just like us.

The very appellation, ‘Women’s Movement’, and the claim to be a champion for equality are but, without wishing to sound paranoic, a smokescreen for a diabolical crusade to destroy the God-given institution of the family. As those who profess the religion of Christ we should give the godless femenist movement a very wide-berth indeed, as it is the very antipathy of all that we hold dear and believe in as Catholics. It may be said by way of reply that whilst much is seriously amiss with femenism, it has, notwithstanding, achieved much good for women. However, many of us would say that any good is far outweighed by the egregiously bad things of this godless movement, such as aggressively trying to eliminate or blur the gender differences between men and women and revolting against the divine providential order of things.

God bless and thankyou for your contribution, dear friend.

Warmest good wishes,

Pax

Why don’t all of the feminists haters start their own group? That way you can talk to each other and vent and you can stop derailing threads and we can stay on topic. Imagine if there were a few posters who always wanted to talk about exercise and no matter what the topic they would find a way to talk about exercise. This is what is happening except its much more negative and angry. Anyone think this sounds like a good idea?

Past iniquities involving voting and property rights for women…has nothing to do with radical feminism and its dismantling of the Church.
I’m glad that you’re on board with that, for sure. Because when people on CAF talk about the “good ol’ days” in the U.S. regarding gender and race, I often wonder just what they mean by that. After all, it wasn’t too long ago that women and non-whites were denied equal treatment under the law (they still are from time to time, it’s just not allowed per the law anymore.)

Nah, I’m good. 😛

I agree.
