A Rosary by any other name . . .!
When one joined the Confraternity of the Rosary long ago, it was almost like joining a Third Order. Some branches had requirements to wear a rosary on one’s belt or around one’s wrist (in fact, the early and still today most widespread rosaries are “cord rosaries” not ones made with wooden or glass beads). Both men and women often took the name of “Mary” as their second name when they joined the Rosary Confraternity as well, wore a blue sash or another blue item etc.
It would be great to revive the parish-based Confraternity of the Rosary along these lines, to renew the First Sunday Communion of the Rosarians and even the Perpetual Rosary.
