Thank you Lord for allowing us to have a Tridentine Mass which distributes communion at the rails by a priest…
“God grant us priests, many holy priests.”
“God grant us priests, many holy priests.”
I don’t consider this line jumping - I consider this keeping the lines going. :yup:and I line-jump every so often… But not for any of the really given reason… The Priest in my Parish usually has his line finish a lot faster before the EMC’s so… Since I am usually near the back of line, I will switch lines when no one is behind me…
Though we only have 2 lines close together… So line jumping wouldn’t be very noticable near the end.
I voted “no, but I would if I could”. It’s sorta disorderly…and I dont like to bring attention to myself. But I do prefer to recieve from a priest or deacon.
When I recieve from a priest…I recieve on the tongue…
But when I recieve from an EME…I just recieve in the hand. I feel like…if I’m already making one “allowed exception” I might as well make the other…I mean…if it has already touched one pair of unconsecrated hands…what’s the point of mine not touching it?
Good point…I’ve never thought of it that way. Still, I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to receive in my hand. It’s not that I look at everyone else and say “HOW could they do that?!?” or think it’s wrong, it’s just the way I prefer.I have never understood the fear (for lack of a better word) of recieving Jesus by hand. Aren’t we supposed to have a personal relationship with Christ? How can we have a personal relationship with Jesus if we are afraid to touch Him?
Yeah, I’ll only line jump if the other line has no people & the priest or EM is or shortly about to me just standing there. I never change lines to receive from a specific person, priest or otherwise.and I line-jump every so often… But not for any of the really given reason… The Priest in my Parish usually has his line finish a lot faster before the EMC’s so… Since I am usually near the back of line, I will switch lines when no one is behind me…

Hi Michael,Are you ordained? When you receive on the tongue, are you not touching the Lord, even if only with your tongue (and everything between there and your stomach)? Whether you receive in the hand or on the tongue, you ARE touching the Lord.
Well, you won’t hear that from me. You are right to receive on the tongue, and I am right to receive in the hand. Our Church allows both. That’s the beauty of our faith. God sees what is in our hearts.I also know that people will always do their best to convince me that it is I that is wrong, and I need to ‘get with the program’ about reception in the hand by EMHC’s.
This is exactly what I do.Yeah, I’ll only line jump if the other line has no people & the priest or EM is or shortly about to me just standing there. I never change lines to receive from a specific person, priest or otherwise.
