I’ve seen a few clips of her on YouTube. You Americans would know her well, especially if you have EWTN channel.
Have to say, my first impression is like a flashback of all those conservative nuns I met through the Catholic Education System in childhood. Doesn’t take nonsense. Inflexible. Scary.
Yet I could grow to like her as I watch more of her. Does she appeal to all Catholics?

I like her style. She’s kind of like an old-school Catholic grandma.

I wasn’t a fan until I read her biography by Raymond Arroyo. She was quite a nun!
A very inspirational story. I recommend reading her book!

Too old for me to know her but I’m sure many of you miss her very much.

Not my cup of tea. I grew up educated by sisters. Maybe that’s why. Two of them were pretty rough and one was angelic.

You don’t understand… I’ve seen her show but it didn’t appeal to me.

I think he understood your post to say it was told old for you and you had not heard of her.

Mother Angelica means a lot to me. She was who first introduced me to the Catholic church while flipping channels. I have seen almost all of her shows, read her book, and was fortunate to visit her resting place. I am very much looking forward to if/when her cause may be opened. (Has to be 5 years after her death)

I am very sad I never got a chance to meet her and tell her what an impact she had on me but I know she knows now and cant wait to hopefully join her in heaven. As she famously said, “Everyone is called to be a great saint. Don’t miss the opportunity.”

I have to say that I really love Mother Angelica. I converted to the Catholic Faith 3 years ago and I couldn’t get enough of her. She was a huge factor in my converting. While she can be serious at time she also had a humor about her and could make you laugh.

Mother Angelica started the first world wide Catholic television network from a garage. And let’s face it many cable services wouldn’t carry a “catholic channel” on their systems. So when you see her programs and she appears rough or abrupt it isn’t because she is mean or rude. But she had to be rough with the secular media in order to get EWTN first noticed and then accepted. I think she should be put forward for sainthood. But then I am just voicing my opinion. And to answer the question - I am not a fan, but I am an admirer of all she accomplished before she was called home to be with the Lord.

I can’t believe this hasn’t been done already. She’s more deserving than a lot of the others who get put forward. The ones who get canonised are obviously saints but some of them didn’t have the public cult. MA has the public popularity. People know her and will follow her example.
