Respectfully opinion only …No…not a relic lover.
But I might have to rethink this for I am fully fully ignorant on this when it comes to relics, sorry if I am in error on this topic, which I really should not comment on
Truly ignorant on also, asking kindly would that be considered idolatry according to his Spoken Word?
Written in the bible is there not a story who won the wars before but etc??..Was there not the same soldiers who put a relic a medal around their necks going into war, staying in God we trust and they all perished?

For they trusted in a medal instead of trusting in God instead?
And those found theses soldiers with medals around their necks, knew the reason why they lost the war…all got on their knees asking our Heavenly Father to forgive those who did so in this war, they lost?

Peace 💗

What is Catholic teaching on how it came to be there are so many different races of people coming from the population bottleneck of Noah and his family?

Respectfully opinion only and in 🤔

Do not believe there is different races of people, for we are all mortals, we are all Human beings, but man himself without carnal minds have created such divisions among us maybe? Egos? Pride? Vanity? Jealousy? self worship? greed? boasting? heartlessness? Maybe creates such and which Jesus and all throughout the whole bible also speaks on as being sins in the flesh, heart, soul and mind maybe?
We are all Human, we are all …Brothers and Sisters… we all belong to …The One Human Family…called… The Human Race 💗
Our Heavenly Father created all Mortals, all human beings in the flesh, he is not seeking out …skin tones…nor was it way in choosing those whom he calls to serve him does he?
Our heavenly Father does not seek or a searcher of… skin tones. but our Heavenly Father seeks out not skin tones…but seeks out…💗 Hearts Souls and Minds 💗…those who love him and become the fullness of Love within …he calls in serving him does he not??
As written…A house divided cannot stand…who seeks to divide and conquer his beloved …Creation…Human Beings, His children he dearly Loves?

Will there be different races within his Kingdom Garden or Human Beings…who sought, strive, to sever the needs of their fellow Human Beings and become themselves the fullness of Love…within their Hearts, Souls and Minds??

1st Commandment…Does not say I am looking for a certain race of people does it?..1st Commandment is it not telling us…that our Heavenly Father’s Will and Desire is simply… asking his Creation, My Family, My children is to Know me and …Love me with your whole heart, soul and mind, as I Love you also… could this be correct?.

Peace 💗 💗 Much Love toward all my Brothers and Sisters where ever they dwell on Mother Earth…

Sorry I do not know what I did wrong here why 2 post ended on one, sorry trying to correct…do not know how this happen. Thanks 🙂🤔🤔

I visited there with my oldest son and two grandaughters a few years ago. It was great to be there! It was very meaningful to me as I am a Third Order Lay Carmelite and St. Therese means a lot to me.

It was in Darien, Illinois.

Rose,

It was an idol that the deceased Jewish soldiers had around their necks. They were not supposed to be wearing such pagan idols.

I’m blessed to be the temporary guardian of first class relics of St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Bernadette, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Maria Goretti. Also in my temporary possession is a precious relic of the True Cross. These were obtained by my mom many moons ago from a Catholic lay apostolate.

I would recommend a visit to the website of Thomas J. Serafin who is an expert on relics.

Has anyone wondered what impact having the relics scattered has on our bodily resurrection. I only thought of this just now. We are only supposed to bury bodies, so why is it okay to separate pieces of a body to display as relics?

Hmmm what are they and how can you be sure of their provenance? If they are truly first class relics should they perhaps not be in a church?

I have a medal that I touched to the casket containing bones of Therese of lisieux when she ‘toured’ my region. That day I remember really wanting to go to confession and couldn’t because it was a catholic thing and I felt really left out. I asked for prayer instead and a priest prayed for me chatted with me. That priest was the newly appointed bishop of our diocese and obviously I had no idea. I saw him again years later and recognised him. That was an early step towards me joining the church, one of the earliest actually. Didn’t smell any roses though ! 🙂

I know for fact that they are authentic because Thomas Serafin knows the woman my mom obtained them from. All came with documentation. And yes, it is perfectly licit for laity to possess first class relics.

What are they though? Do you mind me asking ? Would you consider ever loaning them to a church so others could come and visit them was more what I was getting at if they truly are authentic ?

You can be Cremated these days. I know because when my catholic grandma was possibly going to be cremated ,no, she had to be Buried according to her sisters - this was the 1960s tho/possibly pre Vatican II

Am I a relic lover? No, not really. I mean I get it. But I don’t really get it. And the first class relics kinda weird me out because I think it’s kind of disrespectful. Be that as it may, I accept it as a practice of the church I love and just don’t dwell on it.

Would you consider sharing photos of them here ?or is there somewhere online where there are photos of them?

At one time, first class relics could be obtained from the shrine of that particular saint. The Seton relic was obtained at the Seton Shrine in Emitsburg. You made a donation for the cost of the theca.

Yes. When I get home I’ll take some. I can’t promise I’ll post them tonight, but I promise I’ll get them up soon.
