Are you attending Mother Angelica's Funeral?

Just wondering if anyone is planning to go to Mother Angelica’s Funeral and where you will be traveling from?
 
I can’t get to Alabama, but I will watch what I can online.
 
I live on the other side of the county from the Shrine (18-ish miles), but I am staying away from there this week. I don’t do crowds, and I expect that this crowd will be massive, perhaps to the extent of having to put up a Jumbotron for the people in the piazza.

Mother Angelica was one of my heroes on my journey across the Tiber that started 12 years ago. But I will watch her funeral on EWTN.

Rest in peace, Mother, and pray for me when you stand before the Throne.
 
Yes, probably. The funeral is on Friday, that’s my day off and it’s a short drive from West Georgia.

God Bless you! I wish I could attend, I wish I could bring my 86 year old grandmother… she loved Mother.
 
Nope, it’s too far to go and too expensive to get there. Plus I don’t like being in mobs of people. I got to meet her when our church group went there on retreat before she had a stroke. Seeing her alive when she was alive (before the stroke) was a highlight for me. Going to her funeral wouldn’t be as memorable.
 
I don’t know…sounds like alot of people are just planning to watch on TV. We are going down and Im hoping she gets a huge crowd! I don’t like crowds but I think Mother deserves it.

One of my dreams is to be able to visit the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. 🙂
 
I drove up to Huntsville last night for brass band rehearsal, and on my way home I noticed that there are flashy signs up designating exits for Shrine traffic. There were also flashy signs warning of slow traffic, but at that hour of the night things were moving normally.

People who are driving in need to be aware that once you leave downtown Hanceville on State Road 92, all the roads to the Shrine are low-capacity two-laners. The paved parking lots at the Shrine are huge, but I doubt they’ve ever been called on to handle the kind of crowd that will be coming in to this event, especially since a significant number will likely be driving A-class motor homes.
 
No, but I am watching the services and praying with all the folks at EWTN .
