Yes, please do, because I have no idea how we would know St. Therese had to spend time in Purgatory. To be fair, I think it’s also the story (which you are free to believe or not believe as you see fit) that she had to spend a short time (a couple seconds or minutes I believe) in Purgatory. I’ll have to see if I can find the reference.
St. Faustina was told by the Lord in private revelation while she was alive that she owed one day (I think it was one day) in Purgatory…which the Lord in his mercy then told her he would wipe away.
St. Faustina taught similarly to St. Therese on Purgatory, basically that it is possible to skip it. I find that interesting given that she was unlikely to know about the teachings of St. Therese on this matter, since she was from a different country, not well read, and entered the convent of a different order from St. Therese prior to the canonization of St. Therese, at a time when devotion to/ knowledge of St. Therese was not as widespread as it is today. There is at least one other Servant of God from the 1800s who reported similar private revelations on Divine Mercy, which I can’t discuss here as they are not yet approved by the Church and the person isn’t beatified. But overall it seems like God is tryng very hard to get his message of mercy out. One is free to accept it and act accordingly, or insist on clinging to the idea that we all HAVE to go to Purgatory, which I don’t find at all convincing, especially coming from random strangers on the Internet who are lecturing other posters about their humility.
